At the end of the corridor, there was an art room, mostly used by the art club. The door was tightly shut, but the window of that room was widely opened, letting the evening breeze came through from the gap. At the same time, it allowed the strong smell of paint to escape the room.
Inside that room, there was a cupboard with various kinds of painting supplies inside and some empty canvas on the corner of the room. On the pale-colored wall, there were some paintings of a bird hanged. They were all neatly framed and lined up just like displays in an art gallery. Below each painting, the title as well as the painter's name and the date it was painted were written.
On the other side of the room, just near the front door, there was a whiteboard and a small pinboard hanging side by side. A notice paper was pinned on the pinboard. It said 'The Art Club's Activities: Tuesday and Friday at 15.30 - 17.00'.
That day was Monday. There was supposed to be no club activity. However, someone was inside that room, a male student with ash-colored hair and golden eyes. His gaze was sharp and intimidating, just like a wolf looking at its prey. That males student was no other than the vice-president of the art club, Nero.
Nero's eyes were focused on the canvas in front of him. Sometimes, his gaze would shift at the reddish, flame-colored sky outside the window to capture its color and transferred it to his canvas.
The sounds of his brush dancing and bringing color to the white canvas reverberated around the room. Aside from that, the only sounds that could be heard were the sound of the ticking clock and his own heartbeat. The peaceful silence, as if he was the only person in this world.
However, the moment of peace was broken with a loud voice of the door slammed open and someone entering the room.
“Nero! Let’s go home!” shouted a blond-haired fellow male student. He was Nero's childhood friend, Jin.
Jin walked towards Nero. While walking, he kept repeating the same words in a flat, monotonous tone.
“Let’s go home. Let’s go home. Let’s go home...”
Annoyed, Nero glared at the loud figure who disturbed his peaceful time. That person, however, showed no sign of stopping. Noticing that fact, Nero let out a sigh.
"So annoying! I get it! Just let me finish this one part!” said Nero in an irritated tone.
Looking at his friend who looked about to punch him in the face, Jin decided to stop running his mouth. Instead, he took a peek at the painting Nero was working on. It was a painting of a fiery, burning red sky just like the sky outside the window right now. There was also a tree and a blackbird sitting on its branch.
“Bird again," commented Jin.
