Lavender Blueberry Lemon Tea

Lavender Blueberry Lemon Tea

Jan 22, 2021

Glancing her watch, she waited. There were several people sitting quietly reading the morning paper. There others who were speaking to their friends socially distanced while drinking a second cup of coffee. The reddish brunette haired girl fiddled with her shirt while she waited. She’d occasionally glance up to see if that was the car.

Nope, not him.

She settled back to her chair and waited.

Then she saw the car and the driver she was waiting for.

She stole a glance at the driver and her heart skipped a beat. Did it? She thought she was imagining things. However, when the lanky and tall driver came out of his car, her heart was beating hard.

Damn, he is exactly who he presented himself online she thought to herself.

Both of them were stealing glances at each other as he approached where she sat. She felt instant attraction, which is extraordinarily rare for her to feel. She felt embarrassed for a moment but then he appeared in front of her.

“Hi,” he smiled with a toothy grin.

She didn’t care about the current pandemic and extended her hand towards him, “Hi!”

“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. Traffic.”

She smiled after the handshake, “That’s fine! I wanted to be here first.”

“Alright,” he smiled and looked at her again, motioning towards the coffee shop, “Let’s?”

She got her things together and walked inside the coffee shop.

They both walked in together and he kept up with her pace. Once inside, she looked at the menu. Different options; different teas and coffees. He chose one and paid for his coffee.

She bought a lavender blueberry lemon tea.

It was a good choice she’d say.

He’d lean towards her when she spoke. The closeness sometimes scared her. She didn’t know what she got into but she was loving the moment.

Once their drinks were ready, they went out to talk and drink.

They talked, laughed, and smiled ridiculously at each other.

It was a wonderful couple of hours. After their drinks, they went walking. He’d walk by her side so he’d hear what she’d say. After a while they ditched the masks and that’s when she saw his toothy grin.

The time flew. And then it was time to go. She asked for photos and he gave her a ride close to her home.

When she said bye, she didn’t know she’d go back again but she had his number and he had hers so, why not?

And thus started her new journey.
