The shining moon glared down apon Luna, casting its bright white light onto her messy fur. A black she-cat with large splotches of brown, yellowish, and grey. She had dark purplish-blue eyes, like the sky on a windy night. The soft crackling of the branches as the nightclaw leader trundled down the forested hill sounded like lions roaring in the distance. Her ears pricked up as she picked up on the sound of what was similar to running prey but heavier. They were slower than most of the common prey in the area as well, and they were slowly but surely getting louder and louder, almost as if the animal was getting closer… Luna was drifting away, her eyes almost closing, but then came back to her senses after a few short seconds, telling herself over and over that she couldn’t fall asleep, she was on duty, as the leader. She suddenly remembered the padding noise and peered behind herself cautiously. Then, a few moments later, she saw a dark grey paw poke out of the bushes and undergrowth. Luna’s eyes softened as a wave of relief washed over her. It was only smoky, the iceclaw leader. She was here to take over the night shift. Luna gazed at her partner gratefully. They exchanged glances and a few words and then Luna strolled, exhausted from sitting up most of the night, back to the nightclaw camp.
In another camp, there was a dog. Her name was misty. She was light grey-blue with a few splodges of darker grey on her snout. She leapt onto a large boulder and looked out in awe at the vast night sky. She looked down the mountain on witch her camp was situated. Stormclaw camp. Misty sat up sraighter with pride as she thought fondly of her beloved ever-growing clan. There were many forested hills on the horizon , and the Empty lake was as black as ever; reflections of the evergreen trees and clouded areas of the sky shone clearly on the surface. The Empty lake was so-called because of it's pich-black colouring and the fact that there never seemed to be any life whatsoever there. No sane dog would venture too close to it, apart from maybe the odd pup now and again. Misty looked up at the shining sphere that stood out in the midnight sky and realised the time. She fled back in the direction of her den as quickly mas her paws would let her. As she ran she thought to herself: I love Sonar. It;s beautiful. I don't ever want to leave.
