Pt 1.

It's crucial to understand that this tale does not revolve around us—mere rats caught in someone else's cruel game. Though we are the feeble-minded and abused victims of a merciless plot, the true focus lies with our captor.

He treated us not as living beings but as little more than disposable objects, if such a thing can even experience the depths of pain.

This story is ultimately about Peterson Haavens, a young man whose slow descent into madness drives the dark narrative forward. 

I am Rat 6, a creature without a name, defined solely by the command of my master. My existence, along with my fellow rats—Rat 1 through Rat 5—has been reduced to mere numbers. We bear the weight of a profound suffering inflicted by Peterson, an ordeal so horrific that words often fail to convey its true nature.

Despite our inherent obedience and willingness to comply with our master’s directives, the emotions we harbored towards Peterson were a dissonant symphony of fear, awareness, loathing, and even a twinge of sympathy.

A gentle stroke across our fur held the potential to escalate into violence in an instant.
