Vero Bennedict Heart is a sixteen-year-old boy whose soul was stolen as a child, leaving him blind and estranged. His parents, driven by their social image and the cult, forced him to exchange his old eyes with a witch for new ones.
After losing his eyes, the only grip he had on his former humanity, a monster is unleashed from inside him, ever-growing and ever-hungry.
Right before his breaking point, though, he meets a boy, destined to help those in need but who has had something stolen from him as well. He joins Vero in a last attempt to recover what is lost, all the while helping him overcome a struggle he never had to face prior: blood lust.
