The blue duck, who eventually becomes Starduck, was inspired by a blue truck Terry Tripp used to drive in his late twenties. Also, when Tripp was in junior high, some of his friends used to say that he resembled a duck out of all animals, and his favorite color is blue. From his childhood obsession with everything sci-fi, the blue duck was also called Starduck, which became Tripp’s most common gamer tag for online gaming.
Tripp is an avid sketcher and carries his sketchbook or iPad with him everywhere, so in between teaching and art exhibitions, he decided to make a short, little comic from his childhood-inspired character in his very own sketchy and trippy style.
Terry Tripp is a teacher, creative writer, and visual artist who works in painting, illustration, photography, and animation. He teaches high school art and exhibits his artwork in galleries in the Los Angeles area on weekends. Tripp graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a BA in English and a BA in Psychology and earned an MA in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University and an MFA in Visual Art from Azusa Pacific University.
