Sorry for the back-to-back Chesterton quotes, but I needed to make sure that if Mike Nelson ever finds this comic he'll read past the first page.
Anyway, I find the first quote especially fitting. Because as much as I feel I've improved since I started posting comics online in 2013, and as proud as I was of the first pages of this comic as I was drawing them... it's three months later and I'm kind of underwhelmed. I have little hope of fame, fortune, or excellence... but I'm doing what I love and I hope it brings a smile to someone's face.
[Also, I want to thank everyone who helped me bring this comic into existence. My brother Joe deserves half the credit for the concept, which we were bouncing around (if I remember correctly) as early as 2008. My husband Lewis has put up with so much nonsense from me, it's unreal. My good friend Taily (http://awkwardpaws.thecomicseries.com) has given input on everything from high-level scripting down to minute artistic details. These, along with others including Proxy170 (http://projectarc.thecomicseries.com) have reviewed the script and given invaluable feedback. Thank you all so much! <3]
It definitely brought a smile on my face! I really like your art style cause it's very characterizing. The commander is my favourite thought :D <3 keep up the great work!! :)
It was cruel fate to be born in space, but Elijah Kalgan has vowed he will not die there. He and Chief Engineer MacPhearson have a plan to turn the rickety and misguided Southern Sun around and bring it back to Earth. Unfortunately, that means staging a mutiny.
