It was the middle of May in 1992, my elder brother Lucas was waiting for me to get out of school. I told him that I was going to be a bit late because I had to talk to my ELA teacher Ms. Morris  about the upcoming quiz. I had ended up taking longer than needed and he had left me in the school. Our parents died in a car crash when we were 6 so it was just us two. We live with our Aunt Kelly but she is barely home, always out drinking and hooking up with any guy she sees.  My brother has a job as a waiter in a restaurant to help us with the bills as Aunt Kelly is also unemployed. I have been looking for a job but it's kind of hard seeing as I have never had a job before. As I opened the door to the house and went to my room and started sketching. I’m writing a story with my friend Marlene but we need to work on the characters first. She said that was my job because I am really good at drawing. After some time my Aunt gets home already drunk even though it's only 3:30. While sketching I hear my aunt coming up the stairs yelling. “LUCAS” “Lucas isn’t here right now,” I yelled back to her. “Where tf is he?” she asked clearly on her last nerve. “He’s at football practice” This isn’t a complete lie. He was at football, yes but he was also hanging out with his boyfriend Alex. I try to cover for them as much as possible. “Tell him he has to come home strat after football practice!” 

I text Lucas and tell him he needs to come back now.
