ISSA, openly-gay and entangled in a web of unwanted relationships, befriends KI, a highly-strung over-thinker, in the small Greater London town of Sherrywater. Dealing with problems regarding race, sexuality and the burden of being on the brink of adulthood, they find comfort and soft-spoken subtleties in their bond.

But all good things must come an end. The boys learn they're counting down the days they're able to have their cherished texts, late night whispers and mutual glances and decide to spend time together discovering who they are, who they like and what it all means in the grand scheme of things.

In the end, they're left wondering if they understood love - or even themselves - at all.
