The nightshade

“It’s just me down here, under the nightshade…”

Years ago in a darkened kingdom where others of the light could not see, an infant boy was born. His mother was being hunted and could not take care of the child. So she lay him beside Estalera’s tree and ran away, leaving him alone in the nightshade. The child was found by a woman walking home. She was a high class citizen named Sindree. Sindree found the child and brought him to her house.

-----------------------------16 years later----------------------------

“Erieyata wake up!” Sindree yelled from down the hall. Sindree walked down the stairs and stepped into the kitchen to make breakfast, I sniff the air, the smell of sizzling bacon. I drag my tired legs into the kitchen for breakfast. “Morning auntie”

“Hello Erie, it's your first day of school today…” Sindree sighed “I still don’t see why you must go to a public school and not stay home with your personal teacher like always.” I laughed a bit “Shouldn't I be the nervous one?” I looked at the clock, my eyes shot open and I shoveled the food in my mouth. “I'd love to chat, but I have school! Bye~~!” I ran out the door and Sindree’s expressionless face went unnoticed. I sprinted down the dim foggy street, my bag flapping behind me as I run. But only when I was halfway down the street did I notice I wasn't wearing my uniform, after running back and forth I finally made it but I was late.

I opened the door to the class “Uh, hello” I awkwardly spoke out. The teacher looks at me disappointed“And you are…?” she kind of looks disappointed in general. “I'm Erieyata-... The new student?” I start to think I am in the wrong room. “Ah yes.. Sit over there” she stands up to pass me a few books and I sit at a desk. After that, I walk into the cafeteria to see loads of people sitting at tables together chatting. I sat beside a guy who is sitting alone, but as soon as I take a seat the whole cafe goes silent. He looked up at me. “What are you doing?” he said seriously “....look unless you want everyone to avoid you I suggest you leave now.’ I glanced around at everyone staring at our table, I tilted my head down at my food tray and started to eat. Suddenly people started chatting once again.

“Who are you anyway?” he sighed . I couldn't understand what just happened “I'm-” RIIINNNGG the bell sounded before I could answer. the guy disappeared in the blink of an eye.
