Authors Note,
This story is in the process of being remade. It will go through a few drastic changes. I will also post a map for it. I estimate that the remake will be ready for posting around May/June of 2025.

The unearthly silence struck me when I woke up, or should I say it was the first thing that struck me?
For once, it seemed like I was able to sleep in. It was all because my boisterous siblings were quiet. I slowly opened my eyes, and I realized immediately that I was definitely not in my room. In fact, I wasn’t even in my house, or any house for that matter. A thick fog obstructed my view, and soft wet ground dampened my nightgown. I looked around, squinting my eyes to try and see, but it was to no avail. The fog was thick, and I took a deep breath in only to have the moister of the fog clog my nose, making it hard to breathe. The mistiness of the air felt strangely clean and devoid of any harmful chemicals, which struck me as weird.
I slowly stood to my feet only to feel a sharp pain in my ankle. It pulsed violently, and I felt myself falling to the ground again. My throat knotted at the painful sensation, and I felt like throwing up. My body shook violently with the pain, and I found it even harder to breathe. What is happening?
As I started to feel around me, my hand came to an object. I held it closer to find that it was a large stick. It was brown and smooth. I could only assume that it was a walking stick that someone had made. While observing the object, I came to the conclusion that whoever owed the cane must have been very wealthy, seeing as how wood is so expensive.
I used the stick to stand once more. This time with the cane supporting me, I started to move through the fog without as much pain. It seemed that I was going uphill for most of the walk, strange! Wasn’t the world supposed only to have one mountain? I pushed the thought to the back of my head as intense pain shot up my leg.
I fell once more to the ground. My eyes stung with tears, and the small amount of food that I ate last night threatened to spew out. I shook as my sight began to darken and stars started to appear before me. Then the fog began to clear, and I saw a view that was totally impossible. There was a large body of water in front of me. Waves crashed against the cliff where I sat, and a salty wind invaded my nose.
I must be dreaming! I thought as the world went black and I fell forward.
