Yo, I'm Casey. Hit it.
I woke up in a cold sweat, Casey Frey's words reverberating through my mind. Turning over, I clumsly grab my phone on the nightstand. The bright screen temporarily blinds me, but after a few moments I can make out the time. 5:55 AM. Naturally, I'd wake up five minutes before my alarm.
Immediately, I snuggle back into my pillows, desperately grasping for sleep. My five minutes feels like five seconds and too soon, my alarm is going off. I quickly dismiss it, before rolling out of bed.
It was my first day at Wolfside High, so I couldn't openly show people how much of a gremlin I actually am. At least not yet. First impressions were important.
This had to be the rainiest town in America. I'd been here for a whole week already, and the rain had only stopped briefly. It was such a stark contrast to my old home it was almost comical.
I straightened my lavender hair and threw on a maroon hoodie and a pair of worn out black jeans. Then I went downstairs, greeting my Aunt before popping some bread in the toaster. While I ate breakfast, I pulled up my Wattpad and began reading some cringy love story. Then I became a little engrossed in my novel because before I knew it, it was almost time for the school bus to run.
Quickly, I ran upstairs and brushed my teeth, but not without stubbing my toe and dribbling toothpaste onto my hoodie. Oh well, no time to change now. I slipped on some Crocs (don't judge, they're comfy) and ran outside, to see the bus passing my house. Excuse my French, but shit.
It was 7:30 at this point, and it took at least twenty minutes to get to school. Fortunately, my Aunt was gracious enough to take me.
I ended up arriving at school at 7:50. It was raining cats and dogs, so I rushed to the main office, getting drenched in the process. It was warm inside, which was pretty okay with me. Even with the hoodie, I was pretty much shivering.
After I received my schedule and paperwork, I was late for class. The receptionist wrote me a pass and I began hurrying to my first class, Anatomy with Ms. Jenkins. As I rounded the corner, I tripped on my incredibly comfortable Crocs and gracefully ran into something hard. Staggering backward, I tried to keep from falling over. No doubt I looked like a baby calf trying to walk for the first time.
I looked up, my grey orbs meeting intense dark blue. Something sparked, and a warm fuzzy feeling, bubbled up in my chest. I looked away disgusted.
"Uhhh, sorry for running into you." I mumbled out, glancing back at the dude again.
He just glowered at me, his unreasonably sharp jaw tense.
"Well, nice to meet you, I'll just be on my way now..." With that, I scurried away to anatomy.
My morning didn't go well at all. And that's peace.
