Just a demon looking for a place to put her art. I'm a writer as well but I highly doubt I'll be noticed here. What are you doing here? Who are you people?! Why are you bothering with a weirdo artist like me? Go check out someone popular.

For half a second there I forgot why I subed to you... O.o Well this is awkward... ^^; You're comic is nice. I look forward to see more of it (how's you get so many subs man. I got 2 X3 )
Oh no problem. It's a beautiful series and I'm looking forward to more. I was wondering if you had any advice for a new comic-er like me? Like how I can improve on my things or what I should do with my stories or even how to get off the ground
Ahh awesome! thanks!
For new comic, I would recommend all of Scott McCloud's books. They are really great for learning the flow of comics, how to panel, write for comics and more. I would also recommend working on life drawing. Life Drawing classes I feel are one of the best ways to learn but life drawing books and drawing from reference photos really helps too. I learned a lot from art books and life drawing books and then I went to college for drawing (I took four years of life drawing classes haha). I also went to my local zoo a lot and sketched animals. That helps a lot with learning creature and animal anatomy.
Just draw and practice as much as you can :) and one of the best things I tell myself was not every piece I make will be a wonderful piece of art. Even the small doodles, quick sketches, and not perfect attempts are stepping stones to getting better.
And for getting your story off the ground, it starts with actually starting it. I have seen countless people waiting and waiting until they are the "perfect" artist but honestly, you just gotta start. You grow as you draw. Heck just looking at chapter one of Jade Dragon to now is crazy! A lot has changed haha If you aren't ready to start the full comics process (producing pages and chapters and such) you can start with developing the story, writing it, brainstorming the character, practicing them, drawing them over and over, and such.
When you are ready to get it published or printed, I would recommend IndieGoGo or Kickstarter. I used Kickstarter to get Book 1 printed. Here is my kickstarter if you wanted to see what I did: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kmccaigue/jade-dragon-book-1
I hope that helps :) feel free to ask me any other questions
Wow I got a reply :D Yay. Well thank you so much for your advice. It's nice to hear (read) it from someone else ^^ it's so rare now-a-days, critique. I actually do have a Scott McCloud book about comics and it's a lot of help. Life drawing... eh... I honestly can't do it and quality will drop because of the fact that I'm drawing my comics here on a standard Paint program... I'm not that good at computer art ^^; But I do know practice makes perfect, which is good because I draw A LOT. I'm not sure about getting physically published yet because webcomics and drawing is a hobby. I'm a more serious writer.
Honestly this really helps me. If you could watch my progress on my Hybrid High comic (I'm not trying to advertise myself. it's just that no one critiques me anymore) and give me tips i'd really appreciate that as well ^w^ Thanks again
Yeah no problem : )
Life drawing you could always use a sketchbook and pencil. I work on my comic and other art almost 100% digitally but most of my preliminary work, practice or free time drawing are still on good old paper.
I am glad I could help : )
