Hi! I remember what Tapas used to be like when it was still pretty new ~ and after coming back years later, I'm sad to see how it has changed. It used to be inspiring and uplifting, showcasing new and unique comics of various styles and genres. Now it seems only about profit, trying to push people into buying ink, only catering to one style and one genre, essentially. As a result there is very little chance of any reach, growth, or any real community-building like there used to be. That said, it may still be an okay place to host a comic for those without their own websites. But it's difficult for me to sift through the cookie-cutter comics to find anything unique to read anymore, and it's probably hard to find mine as well.
I do think I ought to better my skills in story-telling and pacing, and ofc in drawing better panels with more interesting perspectives and such. But I think I'll continue with the hiatus. This story is dear to my heart and I don't want to rush it by trying to keep up with weekly posting. In the meantime, I've been making animated ASMR Games that I upload snippets of on YouTube. These may not have much reach either (YT has ofc also changed not so much for the better over the years), but it's more in line with what I'd like to make.
To those who have subscribed to Shrubbery-Droll, thank you so much! I am truly sorry that I won't be working on this comic anytime soon. Thank you for reading~♡
