‘Tis the season for Spring Inksgiving!

Help creators reach 20 million drops of Ink in total support during Spring Inksgiving – the Tapas giving event that gives back!

How it works

For 24 hours starting May 22 at 04:00 PM until May 23 at 04:00 PM (PDT), every drop of Ink given to any creator on Tapas will contribute to the overall goal. The more total support given during Spring Inksgiving, the more supporters will get back as bonus Ink the following month.

If we reach 10 million drops, fans will receive 10% of the amount they gave back; if we reach 15 million, they’ll get 15% back. Our ultimate goal is 20 million drops of Ink – if we achieve that, supporters will receive a whopping 20% of their contribution back as bonus Ink after 30 days.

What can fans do?

Buy or earn some Ink in the Tapas app or on tapas.io, then start deciding which creators you want to support (we know, it’s hard to choose).

We’ll be running a special discount on one of our Ink packs during the Spring Inksgiving event, so don’t forget to check the shop then, too.

What should creators do?

Spread the word (and rally your supporters), in an episode explaining how to give support, a post on your wall, or through social media (#SpringInksgiving).

If you create an episode for your Ink Support program or the Spring Inksgiving event, send a link to Michael so we can promote it in our Spring Inksgiving Episodes collection.

What happens next?

Spring Inksgiving officially kicks off at 4:00 PM on May 22nd (PDT). Besides supporting your favorite creators, you can check this page to track the progress toward our goal.

We are so thrilled to announce that thanks to the combined efforts of our reader and creator communities, we were able to not only successfully reach our initial 20,000,000 Ink drops goal, but were able to surpass it!

During the 24-hour Inksgiving event, 6,352 members of the Tapas community helped 2,224 creators reach a total of 16,978,285 drops of Ink support.

Seeing the wonderfully supportive messages exchanged between readers and creators was immensely inspiring and truly represents the values of Tapas. Our hope is to continue to build even more features that empower readers and creators to help support one another and hold more events similar to Inksgiving in the future.

When will Inksgiving participants receive Ink?

As promised, we’ll be gifting back 20% of all Ink contributed towards Support during the event! If you supported one or more creators between May 22 at 04:00 PM and May 23 at 04:00 PM (PDT), you should receive 20% of your Inksgiving contributions as Ink by June 22nd.

For example, if you contributed a total of 1,000 drops of Ink, you will receive 200 drops of Ink back – which you can use to unlock episodes and support your favorite creators. Wahoo!
