For those who live in Metro Manila, let Koi Carreon's awesome new cover serve as your official invitation: You are all cordially invited to the launch of MYTHSPACE Volume 1, from Visprint, Inc. Compiling the first eight independently published issues of Mythspace, with revamped artwork, a folklore guide, and an introduction from Trese co-creator Budjette Tan. The launch will be on November 14 (the day before the Komikon!) at 4:30 pm. at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig (also the venue of the Komikon!), as a part of the 5th Philippine International Literary Festival and Book Industry Summit.
We recently started a weekly sketch event called #SalimbalSketches and just had a lot of awesome submissions for our Philippine Magical Girls theme - head here for a compilation of the artwork! http://www.salimbalcomics.com/blog/salimbalsketches-philippine-magical-girls
That's up to AJ, the original writer -- but as AJ isn't part of the Studio (Koi and Paul are) we're not aware if he has any plans of moving forward with it. We'll definitely announce if he does though!
Our space-opera comic, "Mythspace", is now here on Tapastic, beginning with the "Lift Off" story arc! Mythspace is a series which re-imagines Philippine folklore creatures as alien civilizations. There's more than one comic in this universe, but the main storyline will simply be called Mythspace, and it's illustrated by Koi Carreon, whom you may now know of from "Sentience." Unlike Sentience, however, this is an ongoing series -- we hope you join us for the ride!
