I love telling stories that make you laugh, make you think, but ultimately make you want to tell your own stories! Thanks for taking an interest in my work :)
No thank you sir for the amazing series. Also just started reading ten blade for some amazing reason the story is very interesting keep up the good work!
Hey Matt! Just finished reading issue one of Ten Blade. I like where the storyline is going, though, I would like to see more character development between Ten Blade and his Blades. Maybe some flashback/back stories to let the audience know more about their interpersonal relationships. Art wise, I think it is unique, and I can see the similarities between it and Samurai Jack (a fan myself). The cinematic composition of the fighting scenes is well constructed which is always a plus in dealing with the limitations of the comic format. Pages 19-27, amazing. Very dynamic and engaging. However, I have to agree with Kristintipping7 about the excessive narration/dialog at some parts. "Show not tell" might be a better approach for Ten Blade. Other than that, good luck! I can't wait to see the next issue.
Wow man thanks! That mean a lot coming from you man! There will definitely be some flashbacks and back story sequences as the story progresses. Ultimately I see it as a 1000+ page story to have it all unfold. I will also work on my wordiness. I'm guessing the desert narration pages are a key example of over-wording the comic :( I expect you to hold me to more succinct storytelling ;) Thanks again!
Hi Matt! I subscribed to Ten Blade. I like the art style. It reminds me of Samurai Jack. I think you tend to rely a little too much on narration and dialog to convey important parts of the story, though. I get that it's the beginning of the story and you have a lot of stuff to set up, but you may want try and use less narration in the future. Or maybe I just hate reading. Probably the latter.
Thanks Kristin! Thanks for subscribing! I don't think you hate reading, i think for me it's the hardest thing about comics: figuring out what to say and what to show. I think with this story in particular I was afraid of losing people by starting midstream in the journey. I will definitely try to limit Ten Blade's narration, and let the visuals do more of the talking. Thanks!
