The first challenge for the translation of the Silence novel is the most important: translating the title of the seers.
In Latin American Spanish I use "Veladoras". The definition could be "Who remains sleepless during the night taking care of something or someone, who watches something during the night as a job or as a duty".

[Masculine: velador (Plural: veladores)
Feminine: veladora (Plural: veladoras)]

On this first pass I could translate it as "Watcher", “Sentinel”, “Guardian”. And those meanings would be correct in a way, but they give it a certain police tone that is avoided in the original version. To avoid this tone and in order to maintain the plurality of senses that the word can acquire I will keep it as an untranslated title.
Veladora comes from "velar", to watch. But it also sounds like "vela", candle. Perhaps in a second edition we could translate "veladoras" as candles, which adds another poetic sense closer to what I was thinking when creating these characters. True to the game of concealment and unveiling. Unveil "un-velar". To remove the veil.
Perhaps the movement of unveiling is a concealment in itself. All that appears when we make these poetic games. So you can, if you wish, read the title "veladora" as candle.
