Sorry for the radio silence gang! Die Erste Liebe will be updating again Friday January 4th 2019 for another six month uninterrupted binge. Really hoping to get act 5 done during this time so 2019 can be hiatus free and we can close in on the story! Sadly the people who offered had to back down. I have a ton of AU illustrations im gonna throw on my Extras comic pretty soon though and I found an old three page comic with Night and her mother I considered doodling up as an memory/interlude. Sorry to have disappointed! I was looking forward to them too.
Oh no, certainly not disappointed! I was curious to see them but those are just side distractions anyway. I am happy as it is to be able to read your comic.
Hi homies! <3 we’re closing in on the end of this chapter in the next month or so! Due to moving and other life things Chapter four will be delayed. I’m hoping to continue updates again in December but the usual format will follow. Are you guys okay with long breaks as long as you get full uninterrupted chapters? Also would anyone be interested in some guest comics or contributing some! As always I love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for reading ❤️
I am fine with whatever schedule suits you better because your story is well waiting for. I have a feeling though that the comic has not completely recovered his audience after the long hiatus so perhaps it would be better to post shorter updates but smaller breaks between them to keep the readers engaged. Guests art/fan arts/ Q&A or simply sketches or other comic related illustrations are also great for filling the gap when it's needed. Personally I would love to see some tattoo illustrations ( design tattoos for your MCs/ your MCs wearing them/ your MCs as tattoos- you get the point). Good luck and see you after your break.
Huzzah! Updates for Die Erste Liebe will resume on Friday April 20th aka Nights favorite holiday...not really though. Anyway! Prepare for a full uninterrupted chapter until the next one. I will be taking two month breaks between chapters to handle my personal work overload but I’m very excited to update again. I miss you all and your “get rekt” commentary xoxo see you soon!!! Die Erste Liebe is back in production and will be launching again early 2018. My goal is to completely finish every chapter before posting in order to provide enough content for you guys while balancing being a tattoo artist. That being said, art IS my job now. My plans are to finish this and get it posted as quickly as I can, but I have a very busy job. Quality dropped slightly as I'm not as serious about this as I was before, but I'm determined to tell my story. Keep an eye open for updates in the next few weeks. Hello friends! Long time no chat. It's been a very long year since I've been able to update my precious Die Erste Liebe, and as my tattoo apprenticeship finally nears its end, I have some ideas I'd like to share. In order for D.E.L. to remotely return, there's going to HAVE to be a sharp drop in quality. This means pages are most likely going to be inked by hand, uncolored and posted once I finish an entire chapter. It's going to be a long process, but after having this story written for nearly three years, I would like to finish it in some way shape or form, even if it means my quality will suffer. But I ask, what would you readers prefer? Would you rather I take my time and provide the same quality of comic you have now? Or would you rather I finally get the story going even if it means it's not as pretty as it was? I appreciate all input and hope to return soon xoxox. Your endless support is appreciated.
Ah thank you. I'm going to test a few pages to see how long it takes me to do both ways. This time around though I'm determined to finish a whole chapter before posting so you guys don't get caught with cliff hangers mid-story again. :/ I really wanna finish it too but I'm gonna do my best on top of my tattoo job. :D
there is no problem, if you have a job of a thing you love then concentrate in that. Hope you can make it, if not, good luck!
Sorry for replying so late, I just saw this. I am glad you are considering returning here, you were surely missed. It is a very good idea to give it a try and see how you feel about it vs how long it takes. It is important that you as an artist are satisfied with the work that you do as well. Feeling half-hearted about the results will lead to a lot of negativity in time. So if you find something that could ease your work and feel happy about it then go for it like there is no tomorrow. However, if you feel that taking your time to get things done is more rewarding just do that, k? The readers that have waited for your comic for so long will not mind longer update intervals once they know things are rolling. Plus you could post one or two page updates, so that makes it more frequent. While that might not be as satisfactory for the reader it is really almost the norm here and people are used to one page updates. That will also mean more views and likes per update leading to possible Trending appearances on home page, leading to new subscribers. Give it a try and see how you feel about it once you settled on a quality you like. (oh boy this is long. hope it helps)
Thank you for the feedback! I've been doing a lot of thinking on my return personally. I've made the first steps towards tattooing clients since this post, so I've starting trying to create a new schedule/style and developed concept art I neglected from before. Around this time three years ago I originally started the process, so I'm hoping once Inktober is finished and things slow down, I'll get back on the wagon and aim for a return in 2018. The drop in quality is probably just something I'm going to see more than anyone. I'm not going to work as hard on my backgrounds and instead direct focus on delivering the story best I can, since I'm not trying to make this a professional career!
