We've now re-drawn the first 8 episodes of Hexica Spellfire, and we're liking the look of it alot better. Check them out if you haven't already. We're probably going to space those out a little more going forward as we start to make faster progress on Wrath of the Gods (That title may change).
Speaking of which, we've buffered 5 episodes so far. Things are proceeding slowly due to writing difficulties, and because it's a little more action-oriented. We're not sure yet how these will be released. If we can get the pace of production up, we'll release an episode once per week as before.
But if not, we may release them on a two-week schedule, or half an episode per week. Do you have any thoughts on that? Let us know! Anyway it's way too early to even think about when releases could start. Stay tuned!
We've been hard at work on our new project and would like to give an update. We don't want to give away too many details just yet, but here's what we're sharing for now:
- It's got all new characters, but
- It's set in the Spellfireverse. It's considered the next chapter in that story, but new readers will be able to jump into it without having read Hexica Spellfire.
- Some Spellfire characters will be making an appearance, we won't say which ones
- The art is very much improved!
- It has just a bit of a darker and more grown-up tone (no more highschool stories, we promise!)
- It's once again a fantasy-action-adventure-comedy-drama with just a hint of romance (did we mention we don't like picking a genre!?)
- We have 9 episodes buffered, and we're tentatively targeting end of May or early June for the launch.
We can't wait to share what we've got in store for you. Keep checking back here for more details!
The Twisted Path of Hexica Spellfire is drawing to a close.
The final episode drops this week. Thank you to all of our subscribers (across multiple platforms) for coming along with us on this journey! This was our first webtoon, and it won't be our last.
Hexica will return someday, but for now we're working on a new project that we're hoping to launch in the summer. We don't want to give too much away at this stage but it will have:
- A bit less dialogue
- A bit more action
- Much better art
- And a darker tone
We'll post updates on this new project here, so follow us if you're interested! We may be looking for beta readers as well, so watch this space for announcements on that. And if you really enjoyed the comic, you can still hang out on the /r/hexicaspellfire subreddit.
