Let's cut to the chase. I'm Leyelle, an 18-year-old African-American and Dominican author-poet from Maryland, USA. I'm aggressively precocious so at age fifteen I became a published author for lyrical essays in a women's magazine, and in 2023 I won the H.G. Wells Short Story Competition Junior Category and became a recipient of the Turnill prize (humble brag.) My personality is 90% boss, but I'm passionate about telling the story of the other 10%, the crazy, ugly, and beautiful moments that hurt like poetry.

I have a crazy goal to get 100 subs on "A Dozen Morning Glories" before the novel's debut in June. If I succeed, I'll release a special gift I'll let all the subs vote on!
The first chapter of "Damsel in the Red Dress" from Kattar's POV is now available to read on my Patreon! If you wanted to know what was going on in his head during the first chapter, and to get a bit more detail on the ceremony itself then this is for you.
I'm posting (public) writing prompts once a week on my Patreon (every Saturday.) If anybody likes writing from prompts or is curious, I'd love to see what you guys write to them!
Today I wrote the first kiss scene (kkkkk) Now to edit, pray my editor doesn't die of cringe and make you all wait until July to get to read it (kkkkk) Please hang on lol, it will hopefully be plenty worth it.
I solemnly swear that if I reach 100 subs on “Damsel in the Red Dress” by Friday I’ll drop two chapters.
Yep, the regular chapter and the bonus chapter. I am legitimately so stoked for Friday because I've got so much big news too (good news this time, I swear.)
So please share it with you're friends so we can hit this goal (we're legit one sub away, but being over 100 doesn't hurt either.)
