Rey Terciero

Joined Mar 2018 Hiding in the bookstores of California

I am a queer writer and have always been a fan of strong female protagonists, especially in the classics. I've grown up all over the world, but always found myself spending life lost in stories, both in reading and writing them.

I am LGBTQ and hope to create stories for that others can find themselves in. I've poured my heart into writing Meg, Jo, Beth, & Amy, drawing on my own experiences of being bullied and losing my best friend to Leukemia to create an honest and fun story. This is my first graphic novel. I hope you like it!

This is so nerdy, but I love Microsoft Word!

So I was reading Meg Jo Beth and Amy, and what is Tara Connor talking about when she says this:

"Then I told my mom that I totally hated her. She totally caved and bought it for me."

What is she talking about?

Hello Rey! I was reading Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy the other day, and I was wondering.... can you tell me more about Tara Connor? Such as her backstory, why she bullies Amy, and what her father would do if he did hesr about Tara's actions? I even tried to contact Bre about it.

Hello, Rey! I would like to pre-order the Little Women book that is coming out in November. I see that it is available for pre-order on Amazon, but would prefer to order it in a way that supports you more directly. Could you send a link for pre-ordering directly from you or the publisher?

Yes! I'd love to order it too, and it would be great to get more of the purchase price to the creator!

My husband is a 68 year old English professor at a major university. His favorite writers are Willa Cather. Who was NOT a lesbian by the way, he did his thesis on her. His reports students who plagiarize. I find it interesting that you can’t come up with a novel on your own. Try a little harder to be original.

I’m not going to apologize for the auto corrections.

Mrs. Hodges, you clearly don't understand the concept of graphic novels - which are often adaptations of a well known and beloved work. Instead of being so disparaging of Rey's work, why don't you try to appreciate their love of the original and the way they're staying true to it while updating it to modern times for the graphic novel.

Also, your statement that they CAN'T come up with her own novel is assumptive and insulting. We have NO idea of what else they're working on or what is done and not yet published. "Critics" like you are why so many young writers lose their confidence and stop writing - which is a great loss to the world. We need their voices.

I love this story so far! :) As a former English professor and current librarian, I can't wait to recommend Meg, Jo, Beth, & Amy to all of our kids and teens seeking another great read. Thank you for reimagining this classic for us!

Whoa. This is so weird... i just realized that 130 years ago today, Louisa May Alcott passed away. It's kind of an honor to give her work a new life with Meg, Jo, Beth, & Amy. :)
