I'm a freelancing cartoonist, illustrator, and creator, currently stranded with only my Surface to keep me company. Hopefully I can keep making the arts stuffs.
Yeah man, I use my Surface Pro 2. It's pretty great! Pressure sensitive, I got Manga Studio EX 5 on it, and it allows me to do all my creative work remotely! It's my central tablet right now, and it's paid itself off several times over. :)
Yeah man, just the only thing I could say against it, is that you'll have to get used to working on "smaller" spaces. Since you aren't using a bigger screen, everything will seem tinier. It may take some getting used to as well, as some of my friends who use it have complained about pen sensitivity lagging at the corners, but that hasn't been the case for me.
Best to consider every good and bad scenario honestly. This is my second one, the first having died from a mechanical error regarding it's power button. I luckily was able to replace it free of charge since I paid for a protection plan. :P
Thought I'd share a before/after sketch, of a concept I'm working on. Sorilee on the left was drawn just a few months back (March 2014), and Sorilee on the right was drawn just a few days back. Happy to say I AM MAKING PROGRESS, but now I just have to write the bloody thing. *mumble grumble*
Here's to figuring out a magic/creation system that coincides with the artist's psyche... oh dear god what I am getting myself into? o_o
