Sounds interesting. Don’t think the downshift was necessary. A lot of cis men have a rather high voice, you know, esp. singing. I’m a baritone and can’t sing a lot of known rock/pop songs in their original key, even if I used to sing with the alto section in our choir in some songs. A tenor voice is not “unmanly” at all.

I'm getting a little uncomfy about the discussions about Jameel's biology in the comments sections...Please remember that I am a trans man as well and the reason why I specifically don't over-explain biology is because trans people don't owe an in-depth exposition of our bodies...I have clarified doubts to the best of my ability but google is free...and read the story closer...I don't get upset easily but I am (justifiably) sensitive about this.
Also saying that you forgot Jameel was trans is not cute...Puu is very specifically about a gay couple that involves a trans man and a masculine nb/genderfluid person...My point was to specifically not make it about a cis male relationship...

I really, really, really don't get HOW people could just forget about that like.... Jameel's story revolves in huge parts around the transphobia he experienced. And also thank you, as a trans nb guy I was so so so happy to read your story and see it ends on that note. We need more gays couple with trans guys and we need more representations of trans guys being pregnant without it invalidating their gender. It was such a great story, thank you for this journey and I wish you the best for the next one <3
The main general problem I feel worrisome is that some people don't know/want how to read and then try to understand and relate what they catch an give a very partial opinion then; it is really annoying for some of us reading those comments so of course going to affect authors in some degree....I find necessary sometimes you as authors voice your feelings too about your comics and perceptions.....
I mentioned this ins an earlier comment but the idea of static biological sex is a common myth.
If you're on hormones you've changing your sex, if you have surgery you're changing your sex. If you have late onset intersex condition, your sex changes from your birth sex.
Birth sex doesn't indicate life long sex, so when we say 'biologically X' to mean 'assigned at birth' we're quite literally being scientifically and biologically incorrect.
It's about as appropriate as calling everyone biological babies for their entire life because we can presume they were a baby in the past. And it is a presumption as drs don't do full body assessments of your biological sex, they eyeball your genitals and make a rough guess. It's crude and reductionist as hell. When we put eyeballing babies bodies over controlled adult life, medical treatment and general biological changes, we invalidate many aspects of their being.
