A friend recently sent me this regarding a program that she was working on and I think with respect to your work it applies to you here too! :3
Along with my therapy I am doing strength work to build positive thinking of myself and my life.
It takes 45 days to change a thought [Chris's response: Actually, I've heard it ranges from 30-days to 90-days or more, it varies based upon the source, who's making that claim, the particular "habit", whether it's reinforced, etc.]. To help you restructure negative thoughts about yourself you can repeat Positive affirmations 3-5 times daily that help you start retraining your brain to think positively about yourself. I’ve been doing this for 3 months and it’s been incredibly helpful. I started out with 5 fundamental ones: I am worthy, I am deserving, I am capable, I and lovable, I am enough. I then added to the list. I am strong. I am resilient. If there’s one you can quite believe you can say I am choosing to ... so I am choosing to accept my body, I am choosing to be happy, etc. Say this list 3-5 times a day and then you can start finding evidence each one is true. I am lovable because I am a kind, caring person. Etc. These should ideally be done morning and night and then you can record them and listen to the in the car or throughout your day. You can put on your list of positive affirmations anything you want to believe about yourself. One of mine is I am young and full of energy which is much better than constantly telling yourself I’m exhausted.
Also to go hand in hand with this is listing all the things you are grateful for. First start with a list of as many as you can think of. Then each day whether morning or night, list three things you were grateful for that day.
