Masuto's mother stared at her son in adoration. She stroked his head as he stood there in front of him.
"Mother," he cried. "I don't know what is wrong with me." He looked at her sadly and she just smiled. The other boys at school would look at Masuto annoyingly. He didn't know why because he never did anything wrong to them. The girls at school would always hide from him as though they couldn't stand his face.
Finally, one day when he was walking back home from school, a group of boys walked over to him. "Don't think that you are so wonderful just because of how you were born," They would all tell him. "To be honest, you could be worst than us."
At least, nothing else bad happened to him, but those words were just enough. He didn't know why they acted that way and said that to him. He came home and finally told his mother what was going on. At last, he found out why the world acted to him that way.
"Masuto, you..." his mother started. "You are too pretty." She smiled as he just stared at him. "Other boys are jealous and girls are too shy to get close to you." She coughed and bent over in her chair.
Masuto frowned, lost in thought. 'This whole time?' he thought. 'Just because I look good, everyone avoids me? Hates me?' He ran out of his mother's bedroom and into his courtyard.
One day, when he reached school, he looked at the school newspaper and saw his face on it. He scanned the whole page, panicking. When he walked out of class, a crowd of reporters and cameramen were snapping pictures of him and didn't move. He asked for them to move but they just stared at him or took pictures of him. Some of them tried to touch him but he got scared and pushed them and ran home.
By the time he reached home, his mother was lying in bed, asleep. He didn't have servants since he wasn't very rich but he had an assistant. The assistant was walking towards him but he ran to his room and closed the door. The newspaper he took home from school was in his bag so he opened it and read it properly.
"OSAKA, JAPAN BOY IS SHINING FROM BIRTH"
He stared at the paper and then threw it across the room and screamed. He pulled at his soft and fluffy hair and held his breath so hard. Suddenly, sirens were surrounding his big house.
Out the window, there was an ambulance and a police car outside in his driveway. He wondered what the problem was and took a deep breath. As soon as he stepped out of his room, he felt a cool gush of wind coming from the front door and saw the assistant allowing paramedics and policemen enter. They ran up the stairs and into Masuto's mother's room.
Masuto followed suit and ran into his mother's room to see her lying in her bed undamaged. 'What's wrong?' he wondered as the paramedics were tending to her. 'She is just asleep...' Then a thought struck him in the head. He started panicking and fell to the ground.
An incident just like this happened two years ago when he was six years old. It was the year when his father died.
One of the paramedics ran over to him. "Are you okay, boy?" The medic said to him, trying to calm him down." We're just bringing your mother to the hospital for a bit." The medic stood Masuto up and walked him over to the ambulance. When he looked back, his mother was being lifted on a stretcher and into the ambulance before him.
He quickly yanked his arm out of the medic's hand and ran into the ambulance beside his mother. He stared at her but when he looked into her eyes, nothing looked back at him. Her eyes were closed and it almost looked like she wasn't breathing. The ambulance started and was rushing to the hospital.
'Why is there bad things happening in my life one after the other?' He asked himself. 'I want it to end now.' When he looked up, a paramedic looked at him and noticed his face.
"Oh," the medic said. "It's you! The boy in the paper." One of the women paramedics were whispering to the other but Masuto managed to catch what they said and started tearing up.
"He really does like pretty," she said. "I wonder if he really even is real..." They noticed him start tearing up and stopped talking.
By the time they reached the hospital, Masuto was too tired to deal with people and life although it turned out that everyone already recognizes his face and there were reporters outside as though he was a famous celebrity. He was hiding behind the medic who had tended to him earlier and quickly went inside as his mother was being carried in the cot to the Emergency Room.
'My life is slowly falling apart,' He basically already knew that everything was over at this point. 'I will have no one to take care of me.' He started crying and didn't know what to do.

Eight years later...
Masuto started applying for a job as a Butler in a rich household. It was a hard job to apply for since you have to apply for something that requires big money.
The only person that Masuto has been living under for seven years was his grandfather. He was a great person that Masuto loved until one day he was murdered by someone that the police finally captured.
Masuto has always been waiting for the moment to arrive for him to catch his revenge against the killer. He hates him and can't wait for him to be gone for good.
Finally, he was recruited into the Saburo family. He has stayed there for a year already and is loving their care.
But that's not the only reason why he loves the household. He loves them because the daughter of the house can understand him just as well as he has ever experienced.
