Shae watched in horror as Rain ran after Kylian, the shock in his expression mirroring that of Shae. I knew it wasn't a great idea to make a move. His disgust, his repulsion towards me would have happened either way. We're both guys. Some people just can't handle it...
What's there to handle? It's just two people in love.
Shae hung his head. It must be me.

Rain leaned against Kylian's car, huffing and puffing as he tried to catch his breath. Man, I have got to be more active. Take up running. Something.
Kylian glanced at his friend, wary. He must think I'm weird. Kylian averted his gaze and tried to open his car door. It slammed shut.
"Wait," Rain breathed out, his hand pushing the door close. He fanned himself. "Whew! Why didn't you tell me you were bi? Did you think I wouldn't accept you?" Rain stared at Kylian, a little hurt. The two had known each other for three years, and Kylian still didn't trust Rain enough? What else would it take?
Kylian locked onto Rain as he shouted, "Because I didn't even know! What'd you expect me to say? That I've never been in love, had a single crush? That I've never felt my heartbeat speed up just from someone cute?" Kylian looked down, his shoulders slumped. "I'm not like you, Rain. I can't just date someone because they're cute. I need--more."
Rain tried his best to hide his surprise and asked, "You've never felt anything? Not to anyone?" Kylian shook his head.
"No, but--with him, with Shae, something was different."
"Different how?"
"Like, I wanted to tease him, make him show me all his sides..." Kylian scratched his neck. Is this normal? Is this how you're supposed to feel?
"All his sides? Kylian, you barely know the boy," Rain gasped, covering his mouth. Kylian glared at him.
"Screw you, you know what I meant."
Rain held his chin and looked to the sky, as if in thought. "Did I?"
"Like, all his faces!" Kylian huffed. His voice grew soft and tender as he whispered, "I want to see all of them, every last one." Rain could see Kylian was struggling with his newfound feelings. He knew not to tease him any further. This was serious.
Rain patted his distraught friend on the back and told him, "You're in love. Well, crushing, at least." Kylian's eyes grew big.
"Lo--Love?"
"This is a big step. Congrats!" Rain smiled.
"So, this is love? But, we just met... How could this be love?"
"Time doesn't matter. You're heart decides who and when you fall in love without asking your head. It might pull you towards someone, it might not. That's the allure of it. One minute it's here. The next it's not. You just gotta go with it because when you resist, your heart will pull you back stronger and harder than ever."
Kylian thought back on Rain's advice. He never thought of running away, just taking time to figure things out.
I'm scared. Kylian's pulse blared in his ears as he asked, "What if he doesn't like me? What if I'm not his type? I don't want to feel heartbreak so soon."
Rain smiled a little at his friend's panic. You're so cute, he thought, laughing in his heart. I'll let you figure out Shae's feelings, even though it's obvious, you dimwit. "If Shae breaks your heart, I'll be here to catch you. We'll drink the night away. I'll take care of you."
"Heh, no thanks. I don't need you to take care of me," Kylian stated, but his thoughts betrayed him. Thank you, Rain. I'll be counting on you. Rain smirked. He knew Kylian would come crying to him. It was only a matter of time.
Rain stepped behind Kylian and pushed him in the direction towards the courtyard. "I'm not saying you have to confess now, but how about we go back? Shae looked a little dejected after you left like that. I think you might've hurt his feelings."
"I--I did?" Kylian asked over his shoulder, staring down at his friend. "But, what if he--"
"Just talk to him for now. Grow closer. Make sure this is really love, and when you're ready, confess. Tell him how you feel," Rain told him. Just make sure you don't take too long. I don't think Shae can wait long for you to figure everything out.
Kylian stood up tall and began walking, trying to encourage himself not to falter when he saw Shae.

Farrah wrapped her arms around Shae at the sight of his frown. She knew he was interested, and Kylian's storm-off didn't help that, not one bit. Shae stared in the direction Kylian had left. He looked as if he were waiting, waiting for him to come back. Farrah squeezed, her own chest tightening.
As her sympathy seeped into him, Shae looked at Farrah. He tried to show her a smile, but it came out sad and despondent. The act only made Farrah more miserable. Shae's body sunk, the aura around him darkening.
"Thanks, Fare. I don't know why, but I--he made my-- and I was just--" Farrah nodded. Shae was always last to know when it came to his feelings. He didn't see it now, but Farrah knew he was interested in Kylian. The guy made her heart race. She was sure he made Shae's. Shae just refused to see it because he got dumped earlier, not that it should matter.
I should let Shae figure out his own feelings. If I tell him, he won't fall any harder, and I won't get to see him happy. I want to see him happy, Farrah thought as she kissed his cheek.
Behind Shae, two figures in the distance quickly closed in on them. Farrah lit up. Her dream just might come quicker than she thought.
"I'm sure everything will work out fine," Farrah told Shae.
"How do you know?"
"Because," she said, turning him around, "He's on his way back to you." A bright smile graced Shae's lips as he made out Kylian's figure walking next to Rain.
