I see some people saying they wanted this to go the other way, and I always think that an opportunity to let someone knows that this is a real thing, is great so...
Social anxiety and panic in general is really debilitating, I am sure he wanted to see that himself too( a changing turn where he went to the interview and opened that door handle) !!!
No one wants to live with the fear of being seen, having to socialise and function - well, normally: Such as having a job. An interview can be especially daunting. I hope that this will show that seeking help may be beneficial and having a friend to support him is a huge step, but not a solution
