i dont think you understand how much this comic means to me
just last year my best friend (who is very VERY similar to lucas) stopped coming to school. he'd developed and succumbed to an awful case of depression, social and performance anxiety. he didn't go to school for 32 weeks.
i took it upon myself to bring him back, and i couldn't get him to last year.
but this year on the first day he went to school, and now he's top of the class in almost all of his subjects and in the top 25% of everything else. he's only missed 2 days of school. im so proud of him.
however, taking care of him took a toll on MY mental health. much like lucas, he's very needy and sensitive but he doesnt want to inconvenience. he locks himself in bathrooms or bedrooms if he starts freaking out and wont talk to anyone.
it drained me.
im still recovering.
simon appears strong and like he'll give up anything but i have a feeling he's suffering like i did.
i hope everything turns out well for these two
