People with ADD/ADHD tend to live more "in the now" than people who don't have it. We instinctively prioritize small assignments that have to be finished over a small amount of time over large projects that are meant to be finished over a much longer span of time.
So, flash forward to college, and suddenly ALL projects I have to do are large projects that are meant to be finished over the quarter of a year, and you guessed it, that's an absolute disaster for me.
Sometimes, I'll be able to muster up the discipline to do my homework every week and do a portion of the assignment, but most of the time, I'll be sitting on the couch on Saturday, thinking "Nah, that doesn't have to be finished for another three months, I have the time."
But then, suddenly, it's three months later, and I. Don't. Have. The. Time.
