She ran around, feeling as though she was being chased by something. She didn't dare look around, she only ran. She ran until she felt not snow, but stones. She stopped, looking down at her feet. She saw the path, the shining stones. She looked forward, her eyes resting on the beams of light. She didn't dare look beside her, knowing what laid there. She walked forward, the feeling of warmth shining on her fur. She kept walking till she reached a cliff, and down below, seeing a valley of green....
Hawk Frost woke up to a howl, breaking from the dream. She looked up, seeing the wolves gathering around the alpha's boulder. She stood, stretching her limbs before walking to the boulder. She was in the back of the crowd, barely noticed by anyone. "Everyone, I have news." Golden Claw said, her voice making everyone go quiet. "I have been told of visions. Clover Patch explained what they meant, and will do so for you." she said, backing up slightly to let the she-wolf up. Clover patch stood there, her bones visible. "In these visions, a blizzard appeared. Symbolizing our present. After the blizzard, dead bodies appeared. Alphas, elders, pups, everyone. That symbolized our future that is soon coming. But, only one thing wasn't touched by snow. And that, was a path. A stone path, lighten up by the sun. This symbolized our path, if we choose to take it, what could be our bright future." Clover Patch said, taking notice of everyone's looks of amazement.
"But, these visions are not mine. They are Hawk Frost's." she said, looking at her. Hawk Frost felt the eyes go to her, and listened as she was asked many questions, but one stood out. "Do you think we should follow the path?" someone asked, leaving her in a slight daze. "Everyone, stop..Listen, I do think we should leave. All of us should! But that is our choice as a pack....Now, it's late...We can choose to leave or not in the morning..." Hawk Frost said, turning away. "Hawk Frost, it's not late...I know you... You're scared....but we aren't mad!" Skipping Stone said, nudging her lightly. "We WANT your opinion. All of us! These are your visions...You decide if we stay or go." her friend said, causing her to look back. "...I do think we should leave...But I will not force wolves to leave because of some vision...That is there choice...i'm just a salutary..." Hawk Frost mumbled, loud enough for everyone to hear. She walked away from everyone heading outside the water fall.
It had been a few hours. Hawk Frost laid outside on the stones, looking out into the snowy field she called home. "Hawk Frost?" a soft voice said, making her shoot up. She saw that the voice belong to the one and only Milky Way. She smiled slightly at her. "Hey...Need something...?" Hawk Frost asked, her voice raspy from lack of water. "No..But I wanna talk." Milky Way said, taking her seat by the she-wolf. "I listened to you today. You're right. No one should have to leave because of something you saw. But they've been talking..." she stared, seeing Hawk Frost's ear twitch. "Everyone wants to leave..Even the alpha's...even me..." Milky Way finished. "I'll leave you be...but think about it.." she said, going back inside.
Hawk Frost laid there. Is she right...? Should we just...leave...? she thought, before standing. She walked inside, looking at everyone. Oak Fur walked up to her, looking down at her. "I'd like you to know, we are all with you on this if you choose to leave." he told her, his voice calm, yet stern. "Said who?" a voice said. Oak Fur turned to see a group of elders glaring at him. "We don't get a say now, huh?" one said, stepping closer to the alpha. "Be quiet flea-brain." Oak Fur growled out, his eyes glaring at the elder. "You should show respect Oak Fur!" they barked, their voice a low growl. "And yet i'm the alpha." Oak Fur growled backed, his fur bristling. "Enough!" Golden Claw shouted at them. "We should not be fighting!" she said, looking between them. She looked over at the elders. "If you all wish to stay, then you may. But us who wish to leave shall go." she told them, seeing them nod. She looked over at Oak Fur. "You may not challenge our elders. They were here before us, and will not be judge by their opinion." she glared at him, making sure he understood, and left.
Hawk Frost laid by the water fall, her desire to drink non existent. She dipped her body into the pool, letting herself go under. "Never took you for a swimmer." Skipping Stone said, smiling at her. Hawk Frost came up, looking at her friend. She smiled at Skipping Stone, resting her head on the edge. Hawk Frost suddenly felt drowsy, and let her eyes shut. She fell into a deep slumber...
She ran as fast as she could, feeling the path turn sharp like ice. She ran faster then ever, until meeting a cliff edge. She looked down, seeing it wasn't far. She jumped, and saw it expand. She felt into ice, sinking to the bottom. She laid there, looking up at the ice, before drifting to sleep...
Hawk Frost woke up in the water, and quickly shot out of it. She got a few paces away from the water, and looked around. She saw everyone talking with each other, and smiled at the peaceful sound of chatter. She sat down, and took notice of someone walking up to her. She turned to see a small pup, barely being a month of age. "Hey there." Hawk Frost cooed, a smile on her muzzle. "Snow Breeze?" a voice called, making her look back. She saw Freckled Tail running towards the baby. "Come on love, let's go back with your siblings..." Freckled Tail cooed, picking them up by the scruff. Hawk Frost watched as she carried the now limp pup back to her hallow, and looked out at everyone.
She stood, and walked to her own hallow, she laid by it, closing her eyes. "Hawk Frost?" River Stone said, looking down at her. Hawk Frost opened her eyes, and looked up at him, a slightly annoyed look in her eyes. "Yes?" she asked, looking up at the male. "Me, Cinder Fern, Mouse Wind, and Sky Spot were gonna go out and look for a path to follow when we leave. Wanna come?" he asked, looking down at her. Hawk Frost thought for a moment, but nodded, standing to her feet. She walked out with him, and saw the mentioned three standing together. "Let's go." River Stone said, running towards the entrance. Everyone followed him closely, and came to a halt when they got outside and in the snow.
"Where did you see the path Hawk Frost?" Mouse Wind asked, her gaze resting on the mentioned she-wolf. Hawk Frost looked around, trying to remember. Her gaze rested on a clutter of trees, and she remembered them when she saw the path show. She walked to it, and remembered it going straight.
She followed what she could remember, and led them for at least 5 minutes. "This is as far as I saw." Hawk Frost said, turning around to look at the others. "We can head down from here, but after, we must run to the trees." Cinder Fern said, looking down at the valley below them. "That's a great idea Cinder Fern." Sky Spot said, smiling at her. "We should head back and tell the alpha's what we found." Mouse Wind said, looking at River Stone. He nodded, and took off with the three.
Hawk Frost stayed there for a moment, looking down at the valley. She was tempted to go..to leave now... She turned around, shaking her head. "You can hold out..." she mumbled to herself, before looking up. She walked back to the cave, her pace slow. She looked pained, as though she hurt herself. Her friend Skipping Stone took notice when she saw her, and walked along side her. "Are you okay?" Skipping Stone asked, looking at her friend. Hawk Frost only nodded, and walked to her hallow. She stopped, her legs shaking. Just lay down... she thought, and took a step closer to her hallow. She felt herself collapse, and saw nothing but black....
