My head was drubbing as I questioned reality. I raised my eyes to scan the area and found where I left myself. Good… it was only a dream. A stupid dream. I'm not selfish.
"Now arriving at dimensional gate 2.4.0.4, we repeat, now arriving at dimensional gate 2.4.0.4."
This was it. This was my stop. I made it! Hehe, yeah! I then rushed out the train and grabbed a breath of fresh galaxy air. I wanted to be first to take in the view of the Milky Way Galaxy.
The sky was a fading blue with stars peeking out; planets could be seen in every direction. Surprisingly, everything else seemed to be pretty normal, like any old planet. Either way, I was happy to be there, or was I just glad to be away from home?
"Hey, Missy. Move-it!"
"Wha?" I said forgetting I was blocking the exit.
Soon, people behind me started to shove from east to west, and eventually, I became their mat as they trampled all over me. "Ouch, oof," I squeaked until the last foot was off me.
"Man, the Milky Way sure know how to roll out the red carpet." A boy said to his friend as they were leaving.
"More like the pink carpet." He replied as they both laughed and high fived each other.
I then picked myself up and became enraged with the rudeness of the people in this galaxy. "Insolent morons! If we were in my galaxy, you all would be lynched for your disrespect!" I shouted my heart out, and not one person paid me any attention. I got ahold of myself as I remember who I was, and who I'll never be again.
My name is Hannah, Hannah Conflagration, and I was the Phoenix Princess no more. I left that life to follow my real dreams, to be a hero.
In this land, this dimension, it was known as the Milky Way Galaxy. Heroes were born by creating Guilds and taking on quests, and eventually earning the favor of the people. It sounded simple, but really, it wasn't. Once you became a hero, you swore yourself to the world, to the people, and justice. You're supposed to be pure of heart and all that jazz, but occasionally you get the fraud. You know what I mean? Like the hero who was once good, but then lost a loved one and blamed the world. Then you got ones who couldn't save the innocent and concluded that the world is corrupted and needs to be purged. In conclusion, it was stressful work.
And I too was going to get a piece of that stress and be a hero! But first things first, I needed a Guild.
"I'm here to form a Guild!" I said slamming the palm of my hand on the counter.
I startled the man behind the counter, and he gave a look of annoyance. "Okay…" he said while chewing gum. He stared at me, waiting for my response. For a moment I didn't know what he was expecting of me, so awkwardness was cast over us.
"Well, Sir, you should be honored, for you are speaking to the next great hero! Or do you guys address girls as heroines?" He then blew a bubble in my face and popped it.
"They're all heroes, Miss. Even our Lady Shadia. Oooh, sweet, sweet, Lady Shadia. Why couldn't you just accept me in your Guild?"
"Hey, hey! Stay focus here. You're on the clock, buddy." He then snapped out of his googly eyes and went back to being annoyed with me.
"Alright, there is no need to get ugly. I assume you want to start a Guild, correct?"
I nodded my head. "Yes, that's correct."
He then typed something in his computer and said, "alright, show me your completed quest form and the name of all your members."
"My what?" I replied, and he got even more irritated with me.
"You haven't completed a quest yet?"
"Umm…"
"Listen, Miss. In order for you to have your own Guild, you must first complete a quest and have one other member. Otherwise, you're wasting my time. Next!"
"But."
"Next!"
A man then shoved me out the way as he ran up to the window. "I need to post a quest," he said. "I just got jumped by goblins! And they stole my wallet!"
"Goblins!? Do you know what they will use it for?" The man behind the counter asked.
"It doesn't matter! I just want someone to avenge me!"
Once outside, I found a park that was near the office. I flopped myself down on a bench and took a deep breath. I don't know why, but I was a bit disappointed that I didn't come out with a Guild. But in reality, it was an easy fix. I had the skills to get any quest done. I guess the real problem was getting a member. I leaned my head back as my eyes laid shut.
I began to wish I had never made my decision to leave my galaxy, my kingdom, and its people. Around this time, I would be attending tea time with my mother and sisters; we would be discussing how to be a proper lady. The lessons I could live without, but acting out with my beloved siblings was what I truly missed the most.
I smiled while reminiscing about good times. I thought of one million reasons on why I should give up, go home, and face the consequences of abandoning my family. But, there was only one true reason why I didn't. It was my dream to be a hero. That's all there was to it. Just a dream, it's all I had. Because I was a princess, this dream of mine was a fantasy, unrealistic, unreachable, and not even possible. And I was sure I was going to fail every time I tried, but I knew if I reach out to this dream, even after failure, then I could form it to reality. That's what it took to make dreams into reality.
I opened my eyes to find the stars shining through the hollow blue sky. It was time for me to take the first steps of a thousand-mile journey.
I hopped to my feet. I needed to find a member, but where? The only thing that came to mind was asking random people. It wasn't the best plan, but it was the only plan. So, I started to move my feet and trotted to town.
