I drew my swords and held one from the opposite end while getting low in horse stance. "you…" I started to growl. "you will take me to the quest area, or I will cut you!"
The man then straightened up as he flashed his eyes rapidly. His arms folded close to his chest as he looked at me under eyed. "Wow, now this is an unexpected turn of events. Turns out juvenile delinquents' dresses in pink and have a face of a cutie. What's next? You're going to go puff some stuff?"
"Shut it, you! You're going to take me to wherever I want? Got it?"
He just laughed as he took a few steps toward me. "Listen, you-"
With the sound of the wind, a few strings of hair gently floated down in front of his face. I had given him a warning slash to show I wasn't playing around.
He stopped dead in his tracks and closed his eyes. He displayed a face of sorrow, and remorse became me.
What was I doing? I was about to force this man into doing something he didn't want. And I just got done telling them to have pride in his work. Where is the pride in this? This wasn't me, and it surely wasn't an act of heroism.
I then lowered my guard as my head dropped with it. I was ready to apologize and start over with him. That was until I caught a glimpse of hunk steel coming for my face!
My feet automatically step backward as I twirled away from danger. That hunk of still was actually a sharp blade that the gatekeeper wielded. The feeling of remorse soon left me when the image of my head leaving my shoulders and rolling on the ground came into play.
"W-what gives!?" I said a bit shaking up. "You almost took my head off!"
"Heh, I guess I'm not as graceful as you." He said as his blade weighed heavily on his shoulder. "I was just trying to take some hairs. You know, a hair for a hair?"
"Don't give me that hogwash! You could have killed me!"
He stood firm and left his lazy posture. His eyes narrowed while staring at me without as to blink. "I did find your little act to be cute," he said. "But now you're starting to piss me off."
I flinched as his words went into my ears. This wasn't right. I shouldn't have picked a fight. No, now wasn't the time to be a frightened little cat. If I was going to get my guild, then I have no other choice. He was just another obstacle in my way, and he will be removed!
I placed my scarf over my nose and took a stance that displayed I was ready to fight. My made was made up; I was going to make him bend to my will.
"So, are you actually going to go through with this?" He said one last time.
"Not if you choose to take me to my quest," I replied.
"Let's just get this over with it." He sighed and took a determined position. At least I think that's what he did. He just stood there with his blade lowered to his side. This gatekeeper was lazy to the bitter end. No, mattered I'll show him I'm not one to be taking lightly.
The wind blew as we stared each other down. The way he stood told me that he wasn't going to move an inch, so I took the first steps of no return.
With a skip and a hop, I landed on the tip of my toes to spin with my first slash and come up with an uppercut.
To avoided being gashed, he pushed my swords, which he blocked with his massive one, away and took a space back.
The sound of my swords screeching against the concrete echoed throughout the land as I ran in to close the gap. My legs pushed off the ground, and I twirled my body around to come with a backslash followed by a stab with my other sword.
I had failed to connect any blows to him.
He then thought of me to be open because he rushed in with a giant swing.
I was left to backflip out of there. Within the second my feet touched the ground, I slide in with a trust, aiming to pierce his shoulder.
It was no surprise that the only thing my blade met, was his blade.
He smiled as his forearm pushed up against my head to stop me from getting any closer.
"Nightmares in heaven," he said as he struggled to keep his force upon me. "you're making me work harder than I ever needed to."
"Just stand aside…" I replied just before we split apart.
My breath became heavy as I was trying to catch up with my heart. I was given it my all, and yet, it felt like he was just toying with me. How could such a lazy bum be this skillful?
He then stuck his sword to the ground and placed himself down, Indian style. "Hey!" I started, "we're in the middle of trying to cut each other's throats!"
"Yea, I'm seriously not in the mood for all of this because if I was, then you'll be laying on the ground having flashbacks on your life, and besides we been going out far too long."
"What? We have been only fighting for like, five minutes!"
"Oh, good, you can tell time, so give me a two-hour nap, and then we can get back to it." He yawned as he placed his self-flat on his back.
"Grr, you lazy… take me seriously!" Never have I ever met such a conceited indolent. It truly made him the worst of men. But, that also was his weakness.
He if was going to give me the cold shoulder, then I was going to give him a hot foot.
As one who held the soul of the Phoenix, I possessed the power to control heat, I was a flame of destruction; and this slothful man just made the worst of enemies!
I jumped within the sky as my body began to glow. My hair dances within the wind until it became a spit of fire. I searched deep within my soul to find the burning flame within. Once it was in my reach, I became pink and as hot as the sun.
With my pink flame becoming my body, I charged to the ground where the slothful rested.
My intentions were not to kill him; it was to make him believe that this was my best, my everything. If he was as good as he believed he was, then he should have no problems dodging this attack.
When I crashed to the ground, a crater was formed as the flames scattered around me.
It was as I hoped, at the last minute the sloth pulled his blade from the ground and rolled out the way. Smoked cover the area, and as soon as I had visual of him, I attacked in a specific slash pattern: left, right, left.
With my first wave of slashes, I actually almost sliced his gut clean, thanks to the cloud of smoke, but it wasn't good enough. I hopped back, then came again with the same attacked as before, left, right, left.
I had to sell it really; I must make him believe that I was getting careless due to my anger.
"You stupid!" Left slash, "sloth!" Right slash, "You will bend to my will!" Left again. He blocked all my attacks perfectly. He was even able to meet my blade before it got there.
He then gave himself some breathing room. His eyes were closed as he moved his head side to side. He threw one hand up and said, "this battle has been decided. The sloth has won. You let your anger consume you. Therefore you lost control and beaten yourself. I'll admit, you being able to use soul aura caught me off guard, but that isn't enough. Just go home before this sloth has to hurt you."
Hehe, if it weren't for my scarf, then Mr. Sloth would have seen the grin that made my face. His words were true if I were a noob.
"I'm not losing to you!" I let that be my final words to him.
"So be it." He replied.
I then rushed at him and came in for the first slash from the left.
He guarded on cue. "Next is the right," He said, and I did exactly that. "Now, left, and that's where you're open."
"Think again!"
"What!?"
I slide my body down below him, and my boot became the nutcracker.
His lips sucked in as his right started to twitch, and be before long, he let out a pitch so high, that he shattered nearby windows.
When he fell to the ground, grieving in pain, I placed one foot on top of him and stood proudly. "You lose, Mr. Sloth."
