Alex was a mix of mortified and enraged. With pinpoint accuracy they tossed the plastic card at Kitty's face, gently tossing the keys behind them as well. An odd hum could be heard as the AC turned back on.
"Don't talk about my Ma. She's a better person than you'll ever be, Finch." They growled. It was a lot more animalistic than human, in reality.
Rory went behind Alex to get his keys, extremely uncomfortable by the atmosphere created. Once he got them, he cleared his throat.
"Look, I don't know what the hell's going on here, but I don't want to be a part of it. All I wanted was to leave sleeping on the floor at three in the morning to go find some nice weed, and then all this shit happens. I get dragged to your apartment," he said, looking at Alex, "by her," then he pointed to Kitty, "and then I have to attain my keys just so I can go back home and forget all this happened. But I guess I can't fucking do that now, can I?" He said laughing sarcastically. "Because now I'm a part of...whatever this is. So I'm either getting some god damn explanations or I'm gonna pretend that none of this happened and never talk to either of you again, pretending I don't know you. Sound fair?"
"Your explanation? I don't like you, not one bit! Alex is a little cunt and I'm going home! Come talk to me when this bullshit is done!" Hazel knelt down and picked up the card to return to her apartment, leaving Rory and Alexander in the basement
"Thank God I keep spares... I owe ya one. I'm sorry that I didn't tell ya but I sorta got to now..." Alex placed their hands on their hips, looking at the floor. "Rory, are ya religious? Ever been religious? Believe in hell or anythin'?"
Rory gulped. He shook his head. "I grew up in a Christian home, went to church and shit...but I never believed any of it."
"I uh, hahaaaaa... I'm sorta a, uh, I'm uhhh... Well it's kinda hard to describe, and uh-"
"I need an answer." He demanded. Rory crossed his arms. "It's too late anyway. I know too much already, don't I?"
"I'msortatheunholybastardchildofaveryshortabusivemanandaverypowerfuldemonandit'shardtoexplainand-" Alex gasped for air after that untranslatable sentence.
"Dude," Rory interjected, "I'm being serious."
"And I am too!! It's just that nobody believes me..." They sighed grabbing onto Rory. "'M sorta a demon...? But not really. Like my Ma is all powerful and shit and my dad was like you, y'know... Yeah."
Rory's eye twitched. This couldn't mean anything good. He didn't know whether he would be stunned or sarcastic, but nonetheless, he couldn't possibly believe Alex.
"...A demon?" His jaw was still hanging after unhinging from surprise.
"Yeah, I mean like didn't the extra eye and the teeth sorta give off red flags? Like no kid has fangs. Or four rows of 'em."
Rory's face became serious again. "Ever heard of costume stores?"
"I have a third fuckin' eye that acts like an eye. God- Ya wanna poke it ya skeptic? Or should I perform some miracle to assure I'm a bastard from hell." And yes, Alex was still clinging onto Rory.
"Look, man, I-" Rory was interrupted by loud police sirens approaching outside of the building. After being arrested at least once, he was very paranoid.
Alex, now wrapped around Rory's midsection in a very awkward hug for him not running away or hurting Alex, sort of a thank you, grabbed on tighter.
Something was wrong.
