Skipping Stone looked at the pebbles and stones, her ears going back. "We can't do that!" she yelped, and looked at her friend. Hawk Frost smirked at her, and walked on the tiny stones. "They're slippery, so follow my steps carefully." she told her, and continued walking.
Skipping Stone followed closely, and soon felt stones slip from under her. Hawk Frost jumped out of the way and grabbed her scruff, her neck stretching just to hold her. "Climb up!" she yelled through the fur, and pulled up the larger female. Skipping Stone clawed at the large stone, trying to help her friend. Eventually, they both were on the same stone, shaking and huddled together.
"Okay, from now on, we stay on these stones." Hawk Frost huffed out, laughter following from the both of them. Hawk Frost stood, and helped up her friend, now lover. "What now..?" Skipping Stone said, looking down at the stone path. Hawk Frost went to speak, but suddenly felt something move from under her. The two females looked at each other, and both said "Did you do that?"
Hawk Frost looked down at her feet, and saw that the stone they were on was falling from it's place. "Jump!" Hawk Frost yelled, and both quickly jumped off, hearing the stone fall and smash into others. Hawk Frost slid to the bottom of the slope, her paws digging for any way to stop the fall. Skipping Stone followed behind her, and saw a good cliff at the bottom. She jumped and let her claws show. She quickly latched on, stopping her fall.
Hawk Frost saw her, and barked, hoping she would get the hint. Skipping Stone looked at her, and crouched down. She watched as her friend slid past, and quickly grabbed her scruff, forcing her to jerk forward. Hawk Frost whimpered in pain at the tug, and clawed at the small stones, pushing herself towards her friend. After a few minutes of tugging and clawing, both of them were on the platform, panting, and whimpering. Skipping Stone wrapped her tail around her small lover, holding her close.
Hawk Frost curled up, her eyes wandered around. Her ears twitched to the sound of thunder in the distance, causing her to look at it. Skipping Stone looked, and whimpered, quickly hiding her face in Hawk Frost's fur. The smaller female chuckled, and stood. She walked over to the edge, and saw a few stones and a broken tree forming a small den. "Hey! Skipping Stone!" she called out, quickly earning the sound of paws coming to her. "Look, it's a den." Hawk Frost said, pointing her ears down at the small den. "We can probably sleep there for the night." Skipping Stone said, looking at the brown female. "But one problem. How in the name of stars do we get down?" Hawk Frost said, looking over at her lover. Skipping Stone shot a nervous look, and started to around for a way down. Her eyes landed on a patch of fallen stones and moss, making a messed up, yet sturdy stairway.
"Let's use that to get down" she said, giving the brown female a quick smile. Hawk Frost took a few steps on the stones, thankful for the grip of moss around her paws. Skipping Stone quickly got to the bottom and sat there, awaiting her friend. Hawk Frost followed her and was down a few seconds after the dappled female. Hawk Frost quickly bounded over to the small den, clawing at some loose dirt to make room. A strong scent of raccoon invaded her nose, causing her to back up a little.
"What's wrong?" Skipping Stone said, looking inside the den. Hawk Frost saw her calm face soon turn to disgust. Hawk Frost laughed at her, watching her reverse out of the den. Skipping Stone gave her head a harsh shake, looking at the den with a glare. Hawk Frost looked inside, and saw no raccoon. She gave her tail a flick, signalling it was clear. The two females crawled inside, and curled up together. Skipping Stone gave her small lovers fur loving licks before resting her head on Hawk Frosts back. It wasn't long till they both fell asleep.
