Sorry if you came here to read a comic and instead I gave you a FREAKING NOVEL.
Just kidding.
Here are some things that our boy's depression is doing to him. He's feeling exceedingly guilty, and responsible for things that he is not at fault for (like, for instance, Kyle having to leave home). He's viewing his mistakes as larger and more important than they were, and he isn't acknowledging the things he does well at all. He's spiraling. He's taken one thing and spiraled into "every mistake he's ever made and how it has ruined the life of someone he loves." He is also viewing himself as a villain.
Also he isn't sleeping and insomnia is like depression's main squeeze lbr.
Kyle's response is kind of angry, especially at the start, and comes off kind of accusatory ("YOU'RE making it out like...") which isn't ideal, but be a little patient with him because he panics.
You just know if roles were reversed Ryan would be all soothing voice, like, "Hey, hey, you're okay, I'm okay, not everything you think is real..." while Kyle is just like "WOAH SHUT UP IT'S TWO IN THE MORNING, I WANT TO BE IN THIS RELATIONSHIP GO TO BED."
Anyway, if you want to balance the angst with just like cute fluff, go follow @kywill_hwh on Instagram. It's an Instagram account I created for Kyle, It's 100% fluff and it doesn't really go along with or add to the plot but it's, like, cute and fun. If you don't have Instagram, he's also on Twitter at the same handle.
Oh first of all, when Kyle says: "Ryan, I love you but shut up" I literally died haha. Second of all, I totally relate with Ryan, like that's literally me when I'm spiraling. I also kinda like Kyle's response to it, now just kiss and go back to sleep! :3
Kyle Williams always tried to do what his parents expected of him. He studied, he worked, he went to church. But then, during his senior year of high school, he realized that he was in love with one of his friends. That in and of itself would defy his parents' rules and expectations. Here's what happened next...
