Why do they exist? Why was the love of my life part of them? Why do I have to face this choice? "Hurry," the Queen said. We left and we arrived home, and I was exhausted.

"Jess, are you okay?"

"Mom," I opened my eyes a little bit, but I couldn't resist of closing them.

"What happened to her?"

David had me tucked in, and turned to my mother.

"When she came to get me, she fainted. She's probably still tired from the flight."

Then, I heard David head for the door. "David?" He turned to look at me, "Don't leave me."

He walked to me, bended down, and sat on the bed beside me. "I'm not going anywhere." He put his hands on my cheek. "I'll stay here, by your side." As I was smiling and holding his hand, he kissed the top of my forehead. "I love you, Jessica." I made room for him to lie down on the bed beside me. He came on the bed, stilling holding my hand, and wrapped his other arm around me. It felt warm. He may be a vampire, but this moment was a warm and cozy moment. "Jessica," he said my name quietly.

"Yes?"

"We graduate next month."

"Yea, what about it?"

"Well, let's go far way."

"Why?"

"I want to protect you from the Royals. I know them to well. They'll find out and come to get you. I don't want you to become like me, so after graduation, come with me to a faraway place?"

I put my head on his shoulder, "Do you know what you're asking me? I'm half asleep and half aware of my surroundings. However, I know that you want to protect me from them, but David, I don't see a way we can hide from them."

"I'll protect you, trust me. Please, come with me."

I took a deep breath. "I'll think about it."

The warmth of his hands went up and down my back. He stayed until I fell asleep.

My nightmares will never stay with him hear. I will never become like him with him here. I will never be alone with him here. I will never love anyone else, but him with him here. That is all I wish for. For me and him to be happy.

When awoke the next morning, he was gone. I called him, but my mother came instead.

"He left. He said he was going home to get something."

I looked at my mom, and I sat back on my bed. He will return, right?
