- His first invention which I've learned about was the Turing Machine. This is the key abstract model of universal computer, which allowed mathematicians to proof a lot of useful facts about computers in general.
- His other invention sometimes can be found in science fiction about robots. It is the Turing Test - the test, which was suggested as a measure to estimate how "conscious" computer is.

- Also this cunning guy contributed to hacking the codes, made by Nazi's Enigma cipher machine. He had found the way to decipher Nazi secret messages without knowing the cipher key, which allowed Allies to know in advance about Nazi military operations and to be prepared for them.

But did the society reward him properly for so impressive contribution to science, technology and even victory over the Nazis in the World War II, you'll ask? Well... No, instead they brought him to suicide, repressing and tormenting him just for being gay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
