Vlalan didn't sleep much that night. He washed his face when he woke up and quickly dressed into a fresh pair of clothes that he retrieved from his car late at night. Once dressed, Vlalan went down stairs and made a nice boufet breakfast.

Elle came down dressed in his school uniform. He quietly served himself his breakfast. Salad with ranch, a slice of buttered toast and a glass of orange juice.

"You have school today?" Vlalan asked, watching Elle eat.

Elle nodded.

"I thought you were going to work in the garden today?"

"I have classes first."

"Where do you go to school?"

Elle looked up and finished the bite in his mouth before answering. "Southside High School."

"Isn't that two miles away?"

"I walk."

"If it rains want me to pick you up?"

Elle shook his head and went back to eating. "I have an umbrella at school."

"It's no trouble." Vlalan tried again. "We can go shopping for food afterwards."

"No."

Vlalan frowned. "If you don't want me as your roommate--"

"I didn't say that!" Elle snapped.

Vlalan blinked, surprised.

Elle finished eating and got up, leaving his dishes in the sink and went to the front door. Vlalan stood up and followed him.

Elle stood facing the door after he got his shoes on. "Um.. Don't touch any thing in my garden. And you can uh pick me up after school if you want."

Vlalan smiled. "When do your classes end?"

"One."

Vlalan smiled and ruffled Elle's hair. "Be safe."

Elle nodded and batted Vlalan's hand away as he left.

Vlalan looked at the hand he had used to ruffle Elle's hair after the door closed. "I'm getting too close..."
