I set my things down on the kitchen counter and go into my room to change out of my work clothes. I turn on the radio so there's a little noise in the background and lay down on my bed. What was with that girl? How could she possibly be that excited to move into an apartment that she hugs some random person she doesn't even know? I don't understand but it really doesn't matter that much, I won't see much of her again I'm sure. With that thought I drifted off to sleep.
A loud flurry of knocks on my door woke me up, I slowly got up and went over to answer it. I opened the door and there was my new neighbor, smiling and clapping.
"Yay you're still here!" she yelled. "Come here!"
"What?!" I said as she grabbed my hands and dragged me over to her apartment door. She let go of one of my hands to open it and she led us in to her kitchen. She had three whole dinners set out on the table, a lasagna, a roasted chicken, and some spaghetti. "Who is all this food for?"
"For us silly! I wanted to cook you dinner but I couldn't decide what to make so I just made everything I had. Come on and wash up and we'll eat!" she said.
We take turns washing our hands and as I'm drying mine there's a knock at the door.
"Could you get that for me please?" she asks, looking at me apologetically from the sink.
I walk over to the door and open it and immediately closed it, I couldn't believe who was on the other side.
"You know Ryan?" I ask in complete surprise.
"Ya, he's my brother, is he here?"
I open the door again and there he was with a dish in hand and a surprised expression on his face.
