The ride to and from Dunkin Donuts was a short one. Of course, it helped that it was only a few minutes away from where I lived.
My school was also not to far from my house, which was a good thing since I was almost late.
With the car door car stopped outside of the school, I quickly got out, my mom shouting "I love you" as she drove away.
As if.
I quickly walked over to my locker and practically threw the door open, taking out my Social Studies and Biology books out, setting my bag down.
"Hey, Zachary!" Said a feminine voice from the other side of my locker door.
It was my best friend, Maggie.
"Hey" I said, smiling.
It felt good to finally not be called by my dead name.
Then suddenly, another girl cam running towards us, stopping by Maggie and giving her a kiss. She said hi to me, then ran back to class.
I smirked at Maggie
"So.....how long have you two been a thing now?"
Maggie just looked at me and blushed.
For the five years that I've known Maggie, she's always had a crush on this girl named Sophie.
I don't blame her, though.
Sophie was as smart as she was beautiful, with long auburn hair and big blue eyes.
You could say I have a type.
Maggie cleared her throat and began to speak.
"Last Friday, I asked her out and...she said yes. I promise you, I meant to contact you right after, but she insisted I waited, and then we went on a date and-"
"You got her in bed."
"-I...How'd you know?"
I shrugged as her face flushed even more.
"You could say my spidey senses acted up."
She laughed and I grabbed my bag again, just in time for the bell to ring.
A bell that meant class was over
A bell that meant Maggie and I had missed class.
Great.
