Two years after Reichenbach, Sebastian Moran is a shadow of a man. Still in mourning after the love of his life, he carries on only to offer some support to his, also recently widowed, mother.
Suddenly, his life once again turns upside down as he wakes up to find his dead husband, evil mastermind James Moriarty, preparing breakfast in his kitchen.
Still playing dead, James convinces Sebastian to flee the country and move to Ireland, when he plans to reunite with his estranged family and start anew. “Perhaps with a bit less of crime and a bit more of, I don’t know, NOT DYING?” suggests Sebastian as he packs up his things and says his goodbyes to Lady Moran, currently courted by an old family friend, Mr Paddington.
Moriarty and Moran settle down in Dublin. Life with James is always eventful, but without his rifles or any interesting job to do Sebastian decides to pick up some new hobby and joins a cooking class. Meanwhile, James entertains himself by tutoring - first his little nephew, then his classmates, eventually - a group of College students really struggling with high level trigonometry. It comes as a bit of a surprise when Sebastian admits that he’s found a new calling in his life and wishes to start a business - but one a bit different than all of their previous endeavors.
Intrigued, James agrees and they become proud owners of a small bakery, selling cute (and sometimes a bit disturbing) cupcakes and cakes. Seb is ecstatic, to James’s delight, and the business blooms… until a certain consulting detective and his loyal sidekick hear about famous hedgehog- shaped cupcakes during their trip to Ireland…
