Aki looked around for his roommate. He didn’t know his name, so he didn’t know who to look for. “Um...hello?” “H….hi….” Aki was surprised to hear someone respond. “My name is Aki. Are you the my roommate?” “I guess so. I’m Mark by the way.” Mark walked out of a nearby shadow, a small bag in hand. Aki watched with awe, he’d never seen someone with a power like this. “Woah!” “W...what?” Mark flipped on the lights and smiled at Aki, getting a good look at him. Aki seemed like he was 5’6, his hair was solid white. He wore a surgical mask with a smiley face on it. That made Mark smile. His clothes looked like they were store bought. Mark smiled. “I wasn’t told I would have a roommate.” “Well I was, so…...surprise.” Aki laughed nervously and examined Mark. He looked like he was 6’0. His hair was the color teal, and his eyes were as green as grass, but they looked sad. His clothes looked like they were hand sewn, ragged and patch-work. His arms were covered with burn marks, scars, and a few small tattoos. On Marks left wrist, there was a name: “Sarah.” On his right wrist, there was a quote: “Can’t a broken heart fix other broken hearts?” Mark saw Aki’s eyes dart at his arms, but he didn’t say anything. “Anything I need to know about you Aki?” “No, not really” Mark nodded and set his bag down. “Well, I think class is about to start. I’d better get going.” Mark leaves the dorm and Aki looks at the bag. He didn’t know what was in it, but he picked it up and set it in the empty room, then he left to head to class.
