"God the street is so crowded," I sighed as I kept walking. It was noon on a Saturday, and I was out on my own. All of my friends were gone either with their families, or on dates. I decided to go out instead of staying home for the third weekend in a row. The first stop should be getting some coffee. I walk into a small cafe, more of a hole in the wall than anything. The sign read Cali's Coffee cute name I guess. I approach the counter, and am greeted by a cute barista. She gives me a slightly forced smile, so I just order an iced coffee I step off to the side. As I wait for my order to be called, I take in what's happening in the shop. The seven tables the place had were all filled. Looks like I am taking it to go. After a few minutes I take my cup, head out of the door. I decide to take a right toward the Mall. As soon as I turned the corner I ran coffee first into a girl, a beautiful one at that. As the coffee starts dripping off the woman's shirt I could tell it was going to be wet for a while. She had blonde hair that was up in a bun, and a really cute blue top that was now soggy. I could tell she was around my age just by looking at her.
"Cold! Cold!"
"Oh my god, I am so sorry," I say as I quickly dig through my bag to get some napkins. Why the fuck did I decide to pack my purse full of everything under the sun, like who the hell needs to keep four different lotions on them at all times? I finally found them, and hand them over to the woman. "I can't believe I just ran into you like that I am so sorry."
"It's okay. Stuff happens don't worry about it. I'm Macey by the way."
"I'm Liz, and no, it wasn't cool of me. I should have been paying attention,” I wish I could do more for her. “How about I treat you for some lunch or something. I would feel bad for you having to walk around all cold and coffee drenched," I blurted out in an apologetic tone. She was reluctant at first, but I eventually convinced her to go out to eat with me. We settled on a diner a few blocks over.
"So Liz, what were you going to be doing besides this? I am assuming a gorgeous girl like yourself wouldn't just be alone on a beautiful day like this," Macey said with a wink.
Was this girl flirting with me? I mean she was definitely my type, and she was super chill about the whole drink thing. "I was just going around to some fun stops. I was actually going to go to the mall by myself for a bit. All of my friends were busy today, and It was the perfect conditions to go out, so here I am. The only thing I actually had planned was buying some manga later, and then heading home because my mom said she had something to announce." That last sentence scared me, usually I don't bring up the fact that I am super into manga until I have known a girl for a while.
"Well, since you're alone, would you mind if I joined you. I want to get some new clothes anyway. Plus, I love manga too, and I think you are hot so we can treat it as a date if you want?"
Did this girl just ask me on a date? I mean she is hot and everything, but why? Why me? Why so soon after we met? I mean she is pretty hot herself, her eyes are a really cute grey, and her lips are perfect. Only thing that is really lacking on her is her boobs, but hey I can deal with that. "Sure, why the hell not. Your pretty sexy yourself."
We both ordered some food and started chatting about our hobbies. Macey enjoys reading manga, and playing video games. I told her about how I enjoyed reading, and would splurge on manga every once in a while. I am however not a huge gamer, but I do enjoy the occasional fighting game. We discussed our favorite anime. After we finished eating we decided to depart for the mall. As we stepped out of the shop Macey took hold of my hand, intertwining our fingers. Her hand was really soft and warm. My face immediately turned beet red, and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. I almost never have this sort of contact with someone I like outside of my home. Usually girls I am with are too uncomfortable to be open about our relationship when out and about. "Thank you for coming with me," I say in the most genuine and grateful voice possible. Macey saying nothing just turns, and gives me the warmest smile I have ever received making my heart flutter.
We arrive at the mall, and enter a trendy shop. Macey and I went through multiple outfits, all of which looked amazing on her body. I decide to try on a dark blue dress I almost get it all of the way on but I can't reach the zipper on the back. "Hey Macey, can you come in and help me for a second?"
"Sure."
When she comes in I notice her smirking. Macey comes close, and wraps her arms around me pulling us close together. Her eyes jump to my lips, and then they meet mine. She leans in close, and gives me a kiss with lips that felt of clouds. She stepped on my foot and as I opened my mouth to voice my pain she deepened the kiss her tongue entering my mouth. Our tongues lapped and I let out small moans. Then she pulled away, and I immediately wanted her lips back on mine. I started to pout as she backed away.
"There, your dress is zipped."
I didn't even notice her zipping my dress, damn I must have been too focused on her lips. "You are so mean! You better not do that the next time we kiss."
"Who said there would be a next time," Macey said with playfulness and an added wink.
"Speaking of a next time what's your number so I can text you later," I ask slightly concerned that she was serious about not having a next time? This girl was great, we had similar hobbies, she was pretty, and she is open about us in public. We exchanged number, and went back to shopping. After 6 other stores, and one more make out session I decided I needed to head home. My mom had said the previous night that today she would be making a big announcement. She doesn't really ask a lot of me, so I decided I would not miss it no matter how tempting Macey is. "Hey I-" I was cut off by Macey kissing me again. It was more deep and passionate than the other one. Her tongue tasted so good that I swear I was getting addicted after about a minute of heaven we finally pulled away. I felt light headed, and I was panting heavily. My heart was fluttering like crazy, and from the look in her eyes so was hers. We stood there for what felt like an eternity, we just held each other. A few minutes later Macey pulled away.
"I have to go, but take that as a sign that I that I definitely want to continue this."
I went up, and put my hand on her hips to pull her closer. In the most sensual tone I could muster " I can't wait for next time." I gave her a short tender kiss, and pulled away. My heart was beating out of my chest. What if she thinks I am to bold.
"I can't wait Liz," Macey said In a very eager tone. "Do you need me to walk you home, or like call you an uber or something?"
"No, I am actually really close to my house from here. It's only like a five or six minute walk, so you can go ahead home."
After that I walked home, and it was the longest walk of my life. I couldn't stop thinking about how much fun I had at lunch or going shopping. To be honest I would like to go on a few more dates then if I still like her to make us exclusive. I am still worried about whatever my mom was wanting to talk to me about. The last street before I got to my house was empty. The sun was setting, and the streetlights were coming on. When I finally entered the house my mom was waiting for me on the couch.
"Hey, how was your day out."
"It was pretty fun, and I met someone really cool," I said with a smile on my face.
"Well while we are on the topic of relationships I have some big news."
"What? I thought you weren't going to date anyone else."
"Well it's a bit more than dating. I am getting remarried, and before you flip I just want you to know this guy is really amazing."
I was in pure shock, and I could tell all of the color left my face. "Don't... Don't you think this is a bit sudden. I mean like how long have you even known this guy. What if he is a creep. Don't you think you should have at least introduced me to him before you get hitched. I mean what the hell mom?"
"Look I was going to at least let you meet him, but it doesn't change the fact that we will be getting married. We have been together for eight months, and-"
Before she could even finish I already butted in. "What do you mean eight months, and in all this time why didn't you even mention it?"
"What did you think me coming home late at night meant. I wasn't just goofing around with my work friends."
"Alright so when will you let me meet him?"
"How about next Wednesday I am off work, and you're off of school right now so we shouldn't have a problem."
"That sounds good. Well what are we having for dinner. I am starving". After dinner I went up to my room, and messaged Macey.
Liz: hey :)
Macey: Yo Liz did you make it home safe?
Liz: Yeah, sorry it took longer to text you back. I was talking to my mom.
Macey: So what did your mom want that was so important. You said she had something important to tell you.
Liz: Apparently she is getting married to some dude. I didn't even know she was dating anyone.
Macey: lol My dads getting married soon too. I get how you feel. Want me to take you out tomorrow so you can get over it. ;)
Liz: Sure can't wait to see you tomorrow. What would you like to do?
Macey: How does the arcade sound? It has been forever since I had a chance to go.
Liz: That sounds amazing. Text me the time and the address later. I need some sleep tho so have a nice night.
Macey: G'night :p
I went to the dresser and pulled open a drawer, getting out a pair of blue pajamas with clouds all over them. I went to the bathroom, throwing all of my clothes into the hamper and then brushing my teeth. Why was today so weird? If I think about it logically what would I have done today if I hadn't met Macey. I would have just moped around by myself, then I would have come home to watch some Netflix like every other weekend. I just hope that this goes somewhere because Macey was definitely worth more than the $5.27 is spent on that ice coffee.
