Case 001 - 19
Jun 13, 2015
Although the last page went through the most revisions, this sequence has changed the most from initial concept to execution. Originally we were going to see Ted being led through the rec room, cafeteria and finally his personal quarters with his emotional state slowly worsening with each new disappointment. However, this never had quite the "oomph" I wanted. But one morning I was feeling particularly low and decided to do a stress-relief drawing of myself drifting aimlessly through a black void to show how I felt. While thinking about it, I got to thinking about Space Case, and realized a) what I was feeling was EXACTLY what Ted was supposed to be feeling in this sequence, and b) I could use that illustration idea for a very weird but more emotionally impactful comic sequence. So...depression can be useful sometimes, maybe?
