I feel like now would be a good time to point this out:
The hands are a visual cue for the readers. Of the characters I've shown, only Loraine sees the bottle's aura in the way it's drawn(as darkly colored grasping hands).
Cora and Marshall feel the aura but don't see it. Misty doesn't see or feel it. Marshall is reacting purely to how that bottle makes him feel. Loraine on the other hand,is reacting only to what she sees.
