Hey, it’s Phrax, before reading this, sorry for the inactivity, and also sorry for any typos that may appear after the intial realease of an episode. I often go back through the next day and fix any typos and make adjustments. Thanks for your time!/
“This is insane.” I murmured to Jeppel, a Zythol member I met on our little mission to The Epsilon Decline.
Jeppel shifted up. “I can’t believe this, but maybe that Prototype thing will save us.”
“Gen, let’s hear this again.” I repeated again.
The blue light on my ships dashboard glowed. “New emergency scheduled mission, infiltrate Adventurim and hijack their new ship. Access the 49th layer for this. Before, drop by The Submersion and pick up a new device, Prototype A.”
“Ok then. We are just going to cross the 49th layer of Adventurim.” Jeppel finished while putting on his new outfit. I quickly followed. We flew to The Submersion and landed on the floating pads. Our ships descended underwater till we reached The Submersion.
We climbed out of the ship and Gen entered my helmet. A scientist approached us.
“Lunas, great, take this..” he handed me a small looking pistol. “.. This is the Prototype A, you can shoot it every minute or so, you have 3 settings, safety, kill, or erase. Only use erase sparingly in desperate times. Don’t underestimate this Lunas.” He quickly pushed me back towards my ship.
Jeppel closed his sides door. “Well I’m ready. Let’s go.” He inquired. “‘Me too. Hold on to your gun. I’ll hold on to Prototype and hold on to the ships canons.”
We flew towards Adventurim. Adventurim was one of the grand ships that sent people away from Earth and across the galaxies the first time, it just so happened Syomill owns the whole ship, when they landed the behemoth next to the 7 isles they created a city whos lowest layers are submerged and highest are above clouds, as if to reach the heavens, while the whole ship ranges in enormous sizes. It was likely the second largest man made structure ever, no where near the size of The Driftstar, but still not to be underestimated. This really sunk in when I saw it sprawling before me, the Adventurim showing its authority.
We flew into the 10 layer, the highest layer out of 50 that had civilian landing. Our ship came to halt and me and Jeppel fled the ship to the nearest hyper elevator. The next part was easy, apparently hacking the system so that we could go the 49th layer with out VIP access was easy. The elevator came to halt mere minutes after we stepped in.
“What is this?” Jeppel wondered. I knew what he was talking about. The layer was highly closed off, giant big metal walls blocking off all over, like a maze. We followed signs for a while till we reached our likely only challenge,
The red laser scanned us up and down, to confirm we should be here. A buzzer went off. We weren’t supposed to be here, and it knew. A nearby clank went off. The buzzer switched to a human voice. “Listen you 2, your not supposed to be here, viewing of private data is punishable by death. Don’t resist what will follow.”
The far away clank got louder till a large metal robot stood before us, it’s face that of a mannequin, and it’s hands those off knives and saw blades. I pulled out Prototype A. Switched it to kill, and fired. The trigger was hard to pull. Nothing. The robot started shuffling towards us.
Jeppel looked at me. “Use Erase Lunas. Now!” I switched it to erase and pulled the trigger again. A silent sound emitted from the gun and a large bolt of red at least 10 feet in diameter shot out, erasing the robot and cutting a hole through the gate we needed to pass.
“Oh my,” Jeppel remarked, “that thing can come in handy. Run!”. We both bottled it to the gate and hoped through the enormous hole. The buzzer switched on. “You 2 aren’t getting to it!”. We ran for a while till another gate appeared. This one with big letters on it reading “Bay 0” and a small glass booth next to it. I switched it back from safety to erase and fired, another hole was cut clean through the surrounding area.
“Wow” we both said awestruck. Before was a large ship bay, with one giant ship in the middle, the name “RiftWeaver” engraved in the side. “That’s the prize.” Jeppel said, while we both walked towards it. It was clearly about to take off. “Jeppel run to it!” I shouted as he took off. We needed to get onto the ship before it took off. We made it mere feet away from the boarding zone, but the way up was already lifted, and the ship made a sound like it was about to shoot of to the skys.
I grabbed Jeppel. “Trust me”. I clicked the button on the side of my helmet and soon we were weightless, until we were regaining gravity inside the ship. “Teleportation” I chuckled. It really works. Jeppel lowered his visor and I did so too, we were instructed to bring this ship down, and I knew how.
Or at least I did, but when I tried shooting Prototype A, nothing worked, until it’s parts got hot and I set it down. It overheated. We locked ourselves in a useless closet in the ship while Jeppel scanned their destination. “Crap!” Jeppel looked over at me, “This ship is planning on going to the Driftstar, and it’s going to do it any secon——“
It felt like my teleportation, I was weightless, but so was Jeppel, and he didn’t have teleportation. We quickly regained gravity, still in the ship at the same spot as before. I looked at Jeppel wide eyed. “Jeppel, we need to get to an escape pod to see of this is right.”
We ran throuh corridors till we came across an escape pod, we got in and ejected. Upon the ejection I could see we weren’t in or even near Adventurim, but space. The Driftstar made the taking off sound again and quickly vanished, leaving only a projectile going towards the Driftstar. Upon impact, everything went white.
Staring out the pod for a second, I could see Driftstar falling through the planets orbit, and I could see us, following close behind. I fell unconscious.
