Waiting is hard. My suit has an automatic healing device as well as good bandages, so while my arm is till missing, I’m not dead yet. The UF researchers thought I died when I jumped down here. They have been occasionally throwing scraps of things down here. Random flyers have drifted down here, advertising professionally made sushi, or free education at Kilter’s Chilogari School. 

After awhile I rechecked that my coms unit was still operational, but I’m missing a core component to it, so it is in fact no functional, but at this point it doesn’t matter, well, at least I don’t think it matters. 

The protein bar I stole, while causing me to loose my arm and rip open my back, has saved me from starvation, and earlier this week I led a successful mission where I actually stole some food.

A long time has passed since the crash and I’ve relocated from that awful quarry to a room that wasn’t destroyed, and was also the futhest “tower” away from the quarry and research base.

The food has allowed me to last for about a week, but after counting the days, 2 weeks have passed since the crash, and I should really leave this whole place. At least I thought that way till I saw a patrol unit circling the area. In fustration I kicked the desk next to me. Wait, a desk. 

I opened the desk drawers and peered inside, a lot of junk, but, a helmet and a new suit were in there. I quickly put on the suit. It may have made me look Zythol and not Syomill, but at this point they knew who I was. The helmet was worse than mine, but contained a proper coms unit and a destroyed power source.

“Finally!” I rejoiced. I took out the proper coms unit and put it in my helmet. I switched through channels till I heard a voice. 

“So we need to take out the Eternal Quarry and establish a base there?”

“No that’s not even  possibly the plan. Lunas, Jeppel, and Enoch are all dead so we need to leave the wreck alone. Most people escaped The Driftstar before it crashed.”

I clicked on my microphone and started to talk but the channel had already gone silent. Jeppel dead? It couldn’t be. The said I was dead, and well I’m not. So Jeppel isn’t dead. He’s not. He definitely made it, and same for Enoch, whoever he was. 

I flipped through channels but heard nothing. They weren’t coming for us, so I must come to them. I packed up everything I owned at the current time and set out at night. As I stared back I could see a far away light flashing around, but I had already left into the wilderness of the world.
