Harvasha and i panicked, " oh my god, what are we gonna do?" i put my hands on my head and started to rough up my hair as i pasted back and forth, " what if she finds out? we'll be in huge trouble." my voice kept getting louder, but harvasha stopped me from yelling when she saw my grandma walking past the door of my room. she grabbed me by the head and covered my mouth. i was surprised but happy she was touching my mouth; completely forgetting what i was upset about harvasha dropped me on the ground so she could peek out the crack of the room door. once grandma got halfway down the hall she turned into another room; the bathroom. harvasha let out a big breath in relief.
" she didn't see the key. she just when to the bathroom." i got up from the floor, and stood beside harvasha.
" so you think we could make it? you know with her like-uh, that?"
"no, we have to wait until she goes back downstairs." it was like harvasha was in ninja mode because she was serious.
" what if she comes back out and sees the key?" she gave me a sideways glance then thought about the possibility.
" Maybe you're right, so one of us has to get the key." she looked over at me, and i knew exactly what that meant, but i wasn't the right guy for this suicide mission.
" you should go, I'm too clumsy for this kind of stuff." harvasha glared back at me in the most intimidating way, i jumped back hoping she wasn't going to hit me.
" fine I'll do it, but if she catches me you owe me one. got it?" i was starting to see my mother in her, and i wasn't sure if i should've been happy or scared for my life. harvasha opened the door as slowly as she could to avoid- creak! - that
" oh lord Jesus it's like a fire in my ass!" i tried my best to not throw up. once harvasha got near the bathroom she dropped the floor. i thought she was passing out, but she just had to catch her breath. i don't blame her i can smell it from here, and i still to this day. wish Shane horizon would make a poem out of that. harvasha got back up and slid across the hall like some kind of smooth criminal. harvasha tiptoed the rest of the way and quickly grabbed to the key. the moment she turned around there was a flush, and an old woman standing right in front of her. harvasha hid the key in her back pocket.
" so, his thing. what'd you hear?" grandma's voice when dark, and i almost made me piss my pants. we were in trouble for sure.
" ii mean we were playing hid and seek. i thought he was hiding in this room, but it's locked." harvasha giggled nervously as she twirled her hair with her finger. 'is that a nervous tick?' i thought to myself.
" well now let's make sure it's locked." grandma pushed harvasha aside. now her back was facing me, and she pulled out the key and gestured me to take it. as grandma put her hand on the doorknob i walk out and snack the key from harvasha, stuffed it into my front pocket, and tried to make my getaway. " John! i thought you were in hiding?" i stopped and turned around,
"i was, but you blew my cover." gran turned to around again to look me in the face. i gave an awkward smile and glanced at harvasha from the corner of my eye. grand's hand was still on the door as she glared at the two of us and pushed the door open just a crack. i leaned over to see if anything special was in there, but she shut the door back as soon as it opened.
"so, where's the key?" gran was starting to really scare me, and the lighting from her room wasn't making it any better. it bounced off the side of her face creating a shadow that covers one side. " well? where is it?"
harvasha was the first to speak " we don't know." I looked at her and felt bad that i got her into this. just then i got an idea.
