I had a feeling that there had to be some kids my age around here, so when grandma went to the market, I went with her to scope out the place, and maybe make a friend or two. when we got there, we walked up to this store that looked like a rundown abandoned trap house. geez, and I thought she was crazy because she was old.
"uh, grandma. what are we here to get, exactly?"
" My fix, what else." she booty bumped me and walked in after telling me to say outside. when she came back out, she was holding a brown bag, and a small see-through plastic bag with a white substance inside of it. begin curious I asked, "what's that grandma?"
she responded with " none of ya damn business." I took a step back to avoid getting my head bitten off by this praying mantis of a woman. I guess she's not just crazy because she's old. we made our way to another store down the road from where we were recent. it was a nice little establishment; at least it was better than the last place. there I ran into the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. fine wide edges, and full of color she was a real beauty. I walked over to her and propped my elbow on a table, and tapped her, " well, hello there. you come here often?" her skin shined, it made my heart skip a beat; I meant have you ever seen such a gorgeous comic book!? it's the fourth book in my favorite series, " the night seekers and the nocturnal villain." she was a real babe. I sat up and reached for it when another hand grabbed its glistening sides at the same time I did only for me to look up to see a guy with a green hat pulled down like he was trying to hide. "hey dude I had it first." I said, but the guy just wouldn't let go he just stood there and gripped the book even tighter, "dude what's your problem?! I was here first, back off!" I repeated. again, he stood there as if I never said anything. I wanted to do it the right way, but I guess I must do this the hard way. My only question is... what is the hard way? i stood firmly, and touched my grip as much as i could, and pulled just a little just to get the message to him that i wasn't playing around. he still stood fearless and strong, so once more i pulled this time just a little harder. he looked me in the eye and smiled,
"Hey, my name is Harvasha, what's yours?" i was confused and surprised, but i answered anyway,
"John." i cocked my head sideways as i watched this dude talk off his- her hat, still gripping the book. maybe she was trying to distract me with her long sandy brown hair, and hazel eyes, and her smooth light brown skin.... god she's hot. she was quite the looker, but i still wanted my book. " well, harvasha i want this book, and I'm sure i saw it first so-"
"Oh, this? you can have it. i just wanted a reason to talk to you." she smiled as she let go of the second most beautiful thing I've seen today; her being the first. for some strange reason, i was speechless. who could be that brave to say something to such a woman?
" uh, thank you. i think?" I wanted to say something else, but i heard my grandma calling.
"c' mon here boy, let's go." harvasha looked over and gasped
" that's your grandma?" she was surprised with a slight look of disbelief.
"yeah..."
"I'm surprised she's not in some crazy house by now, that lady is bat-shit crazy"
" Hey! she may be old, and crazy, but she’s still my grandmother." i couldn't believe what i was saying. just this morning i didn't want anything to do with her, and now I'm standing up for the old crow? i really must be losing it, and it's only my first day out here
"Oh, I'm sorry. i didn't mean to-"
"it's okay. um, hey you think you'd like to hang out sometime? you seem nice 'is all, and-" not even able to finish my sentence harvasha jumped up and wrapped her arms around my neck and shouted excitedly,
" yes! how 'bout later on today? maybe i could stay for dinner."
" oh, that sounds nice, but i don't remember anyone asking to come over to my house. do you john?" my skin jumped right off my bones when i heard her voice creep behind me. it was like a dark spirit slowly tickling my neck.
"uh no, but i was just coming' to- i was gonna ask i-i just-"
" It's okay boy, shit with a face like hers I'd bring her home too." harvasha smiled toward the ground then looked up at me. my heart skipped a beat as my cheeks started to turn red. "well, come on here boy i got some stuff to put up, so i can get started on dinner. oh, and miss thang dinner starts at 6. you can come before then and keep company with the boy here, but i don't want no great brands being made understood."
"grand!" humiliated out of my mind i slowly turned away from harvasha to glare at my grandma as we walked away. i looked back to see her smile and wave me goodbye. once we got back grandma told me to go and clean the house while she prepared the food, so i took a broom and headed upstairs. i was going to start in the room i was sleeping in, but suddenly i saw a small light followed by a giggle as if it came from a small child. i looked over only to see a light coming from the door all the way at the end of the hallway. i leaned over to see the light shining from the keyhole. i started to walk toward it, and it felt like i was being pulled by something. i was a few steps from it, but i couldn't hear anything, or see the light anymore; it just stopped. i reached out to open the door; my heart beating faster than Sonic's feet when he runs for a chili dog; that fat bastard. when i got my hand on the doorknob i heard a loud knock, and i felt my heart drop out of my ass,
" John! get the door; that must be your lady friend." i took a breath of relief, but i knew this wasn't over. i needed to see what was inside that room,
its a second grandma, i- uh- need to whip my... uh, you know."
" finish your stank ass up and get this a door!" while i had her thinking i was in the bathroom i gripped the doorknob and turned it only to find the door was locked. i dropped my head, and rested it against the locked book when i heard someone whisper in my ear,
"Is there's a secret in there?" i jumped up and turned to see harvasha standing in a dark light making her appear almost ghost-like.
"Gee, you scared me. how did you get in?",
" The door was unlocked, i just let myself in." i thought to for a moment
but i could've sworn the door was locked.
